His energy at the back end of the game was the turning point imo.

Without a doubt and it was smart to leave Friend on with Keary Pearce.

I don't think that he was ever going to be considered for the #1 spot if Tedesco wasn't going to be coming. We've probably would have kept Flash for another and rushed Mitchell again to be up to speed by 2019. Watson would be 3rd in line without Tedesco.
i don't think Mitchell will play FB again unless things get desperate, he is def more a centre than a FB.

Keary is a major major worry in defence. He is the weak link. For as many tries as he sets up he lets the same amount in.

I think Mitchell is the weak link. Keary is a solid tackler imo but is less often the one making the bad decisions.

That left edge just needs the strong presence of Boyd Cordner. Desperately.

Yeah - Keary goes alright. I'd say he's a better tackler than Jimmy was.

I think Keary goes ok in defence. He will always be targeted by edge runners and he generally does a good job. You only have to see the way he runs the ball at the line to see how tough the kid is. I was only thinking Saturday when I saw him getting smashed a couple of times when they didn't fall for his dummy, how much braver a player he is than Soward was.

I loved that superman effort to get the ball down in the corner. He was deadset flying. Shame he didn't want to knock himself out by instinctively dropping the left arm lol

It would be irresponsible of the Club to match that sort of money for a utility. Despite how much we all rate the kid, he is not gonna play 1, 6,7 or 9 with us for the next few years. You just can't pay a utility that money.
I was hoping he would just stay to learn, but to be honest that's pretty selfish. The kid will learn a lot more by playing fullback at Tigers, even if they are tough lessons.

Lots of money but no sense. They are screaming bloody murder losing Teddy.

Watson is not worth anywhere near $500K.

If the Tigers want to pay that much then good luck to him.

                              Maybe, but maybe not.
From a short term financial pov Connor should leave the roosters, but from a footy pov I don't think it's clear cut. He could be thrown into the deep end with a struggling team and perhaps suffer.
If he stays at the roosters for one more year and develops nicely it could work out better.

I would have thought the Tigers had earmarked Lolohea as the 2018 fullback, given that Josh Reynolds will be their No.6 from next year. But $500,000 for an untried No.1, then good luck to Connor ..would be hard to pass that up.
