This is so dumb from the Tigers.

Also why did they even him with Reynolds and Lolohea

If it's true, good luck to the kid
it must be hard going from starting 5/8 for the majority of last year to utility player playing maybe 15 min a game.
Would certainly love him to stay but that is being very selfish
Time to invest in young POS and Lamby over the coming seasons.

Coming from Massoud and no other person on social media, you have to wonder whether he got this information from the same source he got his Steve Matai info. The guy is a hack.

Hard to believe the Tigers would pay that sort of money for Watson with no NRL experience at fullback as well as signing Lolohea to fill in for Tedesco according to this:

"“I finally realised I wasn’t enjoying footy playing on the wing,""’ Lolohea said.

"“It’s a bit tough, I’ve been all over the place in first grade playing different positions, and I finally came to a point where I had had enough of it. I wanted to play in a position I could get better and learn and focus on that position."

"“Ivan had that specific pathway for me and told me the opportunity was mine if I wanted it, and I had to grab it.’’"

The plan for Lolohea is to fill the five-eighth role vacated by new Parramatta recruit Mitchell Moses, then wear James Tedesco’s No. 1 jersey next year.

Good luck to Watson wherever he ends up. Just no place for him in the top 13 with us.

CW is Tigers bound for 2018 as I predicted - guaranteed the FB spot - 500k is close to the mark - Good one Robbo letting this guy walk

Watson has been guaranteed the FB position at the Tigers which he wanted at the Roosters since they signed Keary as 5/8 - Signing Tedesco meant his time was limited and Robbo hasn't helped with a reluctance to use him in games for many minutes and only referring to him as a utility player still learning.

CW has been guaranteed the FB spot at Wests Tigers in 2018 so has signed on for 1/2 million a year- Cannot blame him as Robbo was rather reluctant to play him for many minutes from the bench - saying he's a utility player and still learning - doesn't show much faith in him with those comments one has to suggest.

You predicted? Really? Do you honestly really believe that YOU predicted this?
It has been on the cards ever since we signed Tedesco , which everyone on here has discussed, so please stop complimenting yourself. It does you no favours.

So is this actually a done deal or just another rumoured exclusive by media?

I originally wasn't too keen on Watson just going to some random bottom of the table club as it would be bad for his development, but the Tigers and Knights are actually building towards potentially turning their fortunes around in 2018 so either one might be a good move for him.

Either way, I think its pretty clear that Watson has no future with us unfortunately. The kid is too much of a talent in a competition that is pretty devoid of creative spine players for us to be able to hold onto him as a mere bench utility for too long.

It would be nice to be able to get another season out of him just to ensure the Keary purchase is working well before making the call to cut Connor, but that doesn't seem likely.

he hedged his bets by saying knights or tigers, which pretty much every off contract player is associated with.

What part of what Robbo said isn't the truth? I won't lose too much sleep. He's a player with a lot of potential but we have Keary and Tedesco playing in the positions he wants to play and he's nowhere near their class yet

I suppose the part where he calls him a utility player is probably a bit of an untruth.

Connor is a 5/8 who can also cover fullback. Those are really his only 2 positions. Sure you can throw a 14 on his back and he'll make a fist of it at hooker or a roaming backrower, but those aren't comfortable positions for him and you wouldn't want him to ever play those positions regularly.

A true utility is someone like Materson who can fill in at lock, 2nd row, 5/8, and centre and excel in all of those positions.

Robbo is obviously correct though when saying he still has plenty of development left in him

I am happy for him to go - especially of it means we can keep both Fergo and Toups.

He would have been on a pittance anyway so I can see him leaving allowing us to keep either Fergo or Toops, in saying that you can't keep them all. Tigers paying 500k for Connor is just plain lunacy but like Parra they seem to have to pay overs for players to go there.

I disagree. I see him as a utility because he can adequately cover a lot of positions. As you said, he can play 6 and do an adequate job at fullback. He was also close to man of the match playing hooker against the Tigers. That will do me for a utility.

I'm yet to see Matto excel at 5/8th or centre. He does a reasonable job in both positions but 'you wouldn't want him to ever play those positions regularly'
