Rambling is good, like reading a short story.

CANBERRA (Reuters) - The bodies of two Japanese sailors who attacked Sydney Harbour in 1942 will be left in the wreck of their midget submarine, Australian authorities said on Tuesday.

The RAN also recognised the bravery of the four Japanese submariners recovered from the two submarines destroyed in the harbour. They too were accorded a funeral with naval honours at Rookwood Cemetery, a gesture much appreciated in later years by the Japanese. The cremated remains of the submariners were returned to Japan two months later as part of an arranged diplomatic exchange.

        Thanks for that.

What's not fair is that Japan allows that alleged seedy and dirty district to exist, then has 5 yr hard labour prison sentences for any poor victim trapped in its clutches.

What a way to stuff up your life. I guess when you are as dumb as dogshiit it was bound to happen. He has stuffed up continually over the years. This one is a topper. I really don't have any sympathy for him. He had many opportunities, he has earned enough to set him up comfortably for life if he had any brains, then chose to throw it all away. I don't see this ending well, and he will have major adjustments to make. I hope he can learn to live on a labourers wage.

When teaching Legal Studies last year, found that the Japanese system has a 99% conviction rate (NSW has around 88% I think) once in court. Fergo is in trouble all right.

I don't think he is married, his pregnant girlfriend dumped him last year didn't she? She was a stunner, and seems to have moved on. But I agree if he had a wife and kids i would feel sympathy for them.

Re Japan... not sure if I mentioned it in my earlier rant but a friend (Japnese dude - a jazz musician) got busted with a joint because his ex-wife dobbed him in while they were battling over custody (she did it to rub him outta contention). He spent 6 months in prison and was the face of all local media for at least a month. They take this shyte seriously and Fergo shoulda known!

When I visit my daughter in Japan, my ex-wife (the one who tried to kill me, abducted our daughter + made various false claims to try and get me put away) is constantly trying to find shyte to pin on me. I know this isn't about me but I have PTSD from the DV and need to cool my blood right down so that my body language can in no way be interpreted as aggressive. She always plays the system to the max by making big scenes in public while trying to get bypassers to go 'oh... what's that meddling foreigner doing to that sweet girl?!?'

Believe it or not, my blood has to be ice cold (I ramble + go crazy and shyte ob here but in Japan, I'm in ice mode... always watching everything I say/do because my ex is always trying to find a way to get me banned from accessing our daughter. She's previously employed hackers + private investigators to stalk the fark outta me, looking for flaws to exploit...etc so I have to be on my absolute best behaviour). That aside, I know I'm in a foreign land, so I don't fark around regardless of all that! Same with any foreign country!!! While I'm a PR, speak fluent Japanese and have family/friends...etc, I CANNOT fark around because I'm always gonna stand out as the big foreign dude. I'm really disappointed that Fergo's done this because most foreigners (me included) have a tough time getting into Japan right now. Stuff like this makes us all look stupid an reinforces stereotypes about us. Massive stuff-up IMO! Disappointing coz I like Fergo, thought he'd turned a corner and a few years playing ruggers in Japan coulda set him up really nicely. Sigh...
good on you for trying to do the right thing with your daughter, sounds like a cluster fck, and it would be easy for people to just give up on the situation.

Your rants are great(maybe not for everyone), but entertaining.

If it doesn't work out with embassy officials, hopefully he has some money left for the best lawyers. Best lawyers get the best results for alleged sinners on trial, seems to me.

In DT today there's an article about Fergo and his case.
Basically the Club has issued a statement:
"Regarding Ferguson, the player contract was cancelled on January 2nd."

He's now working with Australian Embassy officials to clear his name and avoid a possible jail sentence in Japan.

Me: There's some hope for our champion winger from the 2018 grand final.

DT: "Several rugby players have faced criminal charges in Japan in recent years, with some handed suspended jail sentences."

"The Top League was shut down for a month last year after a number of drug-related charges to players.
New Zealander Steve Yates was handed a suspended two-year prison sentence for possession cocaine and sacked by Toyota Verblitz."

These guys are unbelievable sometimes. Why so keen to become unskilled labourers? On the other hand I noted with some pride that Luke Keary completed his Bachelor's Degree a few months ago.
