I've had many wild nights in Tokyo (google a club called 'Womb' in Shibuya... I did many all nighters there and then backed-up for a day of work afterwards). That said, I'm more of an Akihabara dude (i.e. you're more likely to catch me nerding out on Super Potato's throne made of NES cartridges).

Roppongi is quite simply the wrong place to be. Think King's cross but 1000x dirtier, with all these African hustlers standing around being like 'hey man come with me... for $30 you can have free drinks for an hour at a place where all the pretty girls hang-out'. One can imagine what happens next if you follow them. $30 for unlimited beers and pretty girls MUST be legit ay! No chance he's trying to swindle you into stepping into a shonky, yakuza-run establishment.

Long story short... avoid Roppongi. If you REALLY must go there then don't punch people or buy drugs.
