  • Gees these TV stations like to repeat shows and movies? Sometimes the same shows and movies are repeated even the next day.

How many times has Sound of Music been on the last 2 years and I just noticed as I changed the channel back to 7 for the BBL that the Taking of Pelham 123 is back on again for the x time but not the Original

What I dislike is the remaking of classic movies such as the Magnificent 7 , Ben -Hur , True Grit and even the Taking of Pelham One Two Three which TV Channels show - if they want to show these movies show the Original

I haven't seen most of those on TV for quite a while - doubt if Love they Neighbour will ever been shown on TV again. I was always disappointed that Hogans Heroes was never finished off - it was axed

I was thinking of how it could be finished off - the end of the war is near and either the Russians or the Americans are not far away from the camp- starts off about how the war is going bad for the Germans with the Allies landing in Normandy and the Russians advancing on Germany from the East etc

If the Russians- Clink , Shultz ,General Burkhalter and Clinks Secretary ask Colonel Hogan for help to get to the Americans lines - They have to decide whether they will help them or not - they agree to and in the process Clink and General Burkhalter find out all about the tunnel etc they have - Shultz did you know about all this - I know nothing etc etc - story goes on how they evade German patrols and are provided with assistance by Hogans contacts on the way etc to get to the American Lines.

If the Americans - starts off about how the war is going bad for the Germans with the Allies landing in Normandy and the Russians advancing on Germany from the East etc

The Americans turn up and take Clink/Shultz . General Burkholtz and Clinks Secretary as POW's - they have a military tribunal at the camp to investigate the conduct of Clink/Shultz/General Burkhalter etc towards the POW's.

Clink/Shultz . Gerneral Burkholtz then find out what Hogan and the POW's were doing all the time they were POW's in Stalag 13 etc.

Hogan gives evidence in support of Clink/Shultz etc thus avoiding a Military trial.

Clink is sent to a POW camp and upon release has to live with General Burkhalter Sister Frau Gertrude Linkmeyer as somehow her address is on his release papers as his place of residence (his house was destroyed by allied bombing)

Clink tries to get Hogan who has stayed on in his secret service capacity to convince the relevant Person in charge of the German POW camp not to release him from the POW camp.

As you know if your watched the show General Burkhalter was always trying to get his Sister Frau Gertrude Linkmeyer married off to Clink

Be roles and scenes for the other characters

That scenario just a dose of reality for the dropped out of uni children at home doing nothing.

No job, no income...eventually the bank...will...take the house.
Saving money for a rainy day, or the next pandemic (many people lost their jobs and businesses in this pandemic) is the new "we buy a new luxury car every 3 years, take overseas holidays, borrow the money against the house" idea.
The bank will take the house, then the finance co will come for its car.
No home...welcome to the life of the homeless.

If Fergo has saved enough money to buy a house, any house, or one bedroom apartment...he'll be fine. He'll just have to earn enough to pay the rates, water, electricity, food etc.

                      • I have often thought clubs should have programs to help their players manage their money to protect their long term future against things like serious injury and even incidents of player stupidity like this one. Maybe they already do this. I know the guys are adults and should be able to organize their own financial advice, but maybe a safety net where clubs take charge of a percentage of the players income until either the end of their career or when it is really needed. Guys like Fergo, and his mate Duggan, and Carney to name a few would certainly have benefited from some compulsory salary sacrifice, as well as some general life choice councelling.

Maybe these programs do exist. They are grown men so just like non-NRL playing men, they should be able to save\plan for their future.

Plenty of more qualified people than young NRL players lose all their dough through bad financial decisions and greed. I think a compulsory safety net which puts money aside until their career ends makes sense.

They'd have their super (Fergo would have at least $1m from compulsory contributions IMO) and he would probably also own at least one property outright.

IMO losing it all is a comparative thing. Doubt he's going on the dole any time soon.

Andrew Walker's probably a fair comparison though. Last I heard he was mowing laws and stuff (presumably to keep some sorta cashflow going). He'd own his house, have decent super...etc. However, he coulda been sitting on effing millions if he'd made one or two better decisions.

Compulsory? How would you feel if you had a paid job but didn’t get access to all your money cause you are perceived as a dumb footballer. I see the sense in your idea but it’s just not realistic.
