Another negative for Fergo according to my wife is that with Japan's recent success in Rugby Union the sport has a much higher profile and thus the potential for greater public outrage.

Losing his contract would be a massive loss IMO. Doubt he's one of those dudes who has earned a huge amount or invested it all that wisely. I reckon he woulda been relying on that rugby $$$ to top-up his retirement package. Slime Ankle earned something crazy like $1m a year over there and he wasn't even 1st grade in league.

IMO some of these guys really do need to know how to keep it low-key. With Fergo's income, I could buy him an awesome night out in Tokyo with no fights or sniffy sniffy.
One certainly doesn't get around Tokyo with a baggy of cocaine in your pocket. I would presume he was consuming in the bathroom restaurant as well. Nasty.

They would be the last ones to go on a night out with as they just seem to attract trouble and controversy - I mean he is in his thirties now and has been given countless opportunities and only just avoided jail previously(indecent assault) including being sacked by 2 previous clubs - Raiders and Sharks and now a third.

Still not learnt his lessons all these years later

Maybe. The race card won't work in Japan like it works here so that won't be an option. No point getting Choc involved to talk about Ferguson's tortured up bringing blah blah blah

Actually the race card is absolutely in play. The fact that he is gaijin (outside person) means that in terms of a drug offence he is highly unlikely to be punished as severely as a Japanese. If he was Nigerian it would be very bad.

Japanese sovereign nation, Japanese laws, Japanese culture, but Japan really should be seeing possession of small amounts of cocaine for personal use as a health issue not a crime...in 2022.
5 years hard labour in a Japanese prison for what Fergo is supposed to have done? No, that is not fair.
Japan should have Tourist Police to deal especially with foreigners.
Australia sent the body of the captain of one the Japanese mini subs that fired torpedoes around Sydney harbour...the sub located in recent times...back to his family.
Japan should return the favour by returning Fergo alive back to his family.
14 days in drug rehab, then deportation would be a fair sentence.

Japan is Japan. If you don't like their culture, don't go.

I know you are a troll but you really are a painful piece of shit imo.

I think people's personal life stories are interesting, especially this time concerning Japan.

Easy to say, but I believe, given its past, Japan still owes Australia/ns some favours.

Yes and that favor according to you is to let Fergo do some coke? As I said you are a troll, go back under your bridge. Even better, go and get yourself a case of Omicron so you can build up some natural immunity and you can stop rambling about Covid.

No, the favour would be to only deport Fergo...his punishment loss of contract and public shame/ridicule.

That is the most likely scenario so you can go ahead and calm down.

Lucky he wasn't in Bali then wasn't he. In someones eases house/country do what you are asked and abide by the rules or law and you wont have the issues . Love Fergo but do the crime do the time.

I’d say he’s in a bit of trouble. They take a very dim view of cocaine possession over there. Won’t be back for a while poor Fergo.

I think your comment Japanese sovereign nation and Japanese laws sums it up- what'a not fair about it though - when you travel to other countries you obey their laws and respect their cultures or suffer the consequences simple as that

The sub located in recent times - no bodies or remains have been returned.

CANBERRA (Reuters) - The bodies of two Japanese sailors who attacked Sydney Harbour in 1942 will be left in the wreck of their midget submarine, Australian authorities said on Tuesday.

                                https://www.reuters.com/article/us-a...17843120070522

The cremated remains of the 4 Japanese Sailors from the 2 mini subs pulled from Sydney Harbour where returned to Japan in late 1942

The RAN also recognised the bravery of the four Japanese submariners recovered from the two submarines destroyed in the harbour. They too were accorded a funeral with naval honours at Rookwood Cemetery, a gesture much appreciated in later years by the Japanese. The cremated remains of the submariners were returned to Japan two months later as part of an arranged diplomatic exchange.
