Wasn't it at the beginning of the season that majority of you guys were blaming anasta? Our captain running and sooking to the media? Probably the same people now who want him to be a 5/8 and carney gone?

      Please.

I defy you to name one NRL team that keeps it's business in-house.
Probably not an excuse to handle things poorly like our club has done in recent years. As soon as Bennett agreed, the contract should have been signed or at least don't sack the coach!

No matter what you may think of Anasta, his commitment, devotion & loyalty to the club/team is beyond question imo.
        Always gives 100%.
Pity some of the players of recent years haven't had the same devotion.

I love anasta, always defended him but it wasn't too long ago that everyone was blaming him, funny how things quickly shift and now most want him to remain at 5/8.

His best position is 5/8. He is not af forward, no matter what size he gets to.
Any shortcomings this year can't be blamed totally on Anasta.
Keep him in the halves next year & build the rest around that.
We might be pleasantly surprised at the results.

I think you are confusing 2 things. Dont confuse wanting Carney gone for meaning Anasta must be our 5/8. I still dont think he is anywhere near a top 5/8. Id actually play Friend at halfback (ala wing) and Pearce at 5/8 - his best position. Call it a silly idea.

Wanting Carney gone has everything to do with him being a loose cannon that can cause as much drama through the joint as he can good on the field.

Carney gave up on himself, and yet people are getting slammed for giving him away.

If the club is no longer considering throwing Todd Carney another lifeline why is it taking so long to make the statement ?

Way I see it that the incident is still raw and we all still feel angry about it and understandably too. Hard watching the Dally M awards last night when it was only this time last yr that we owned the night to ourselves.

Before this incident happened, every week there was about 10 threads about anasta and wanting him gone, as I recall majority wanted him sack, I don't need to bring up those threads, cause you all know them too well. Almost seemed the blame was on him.

Anasta displayed more passion in this jersey then anyone the last few yrs, yet to let the club down with any incident, but that WASN'T ENOUGH for the majority of you guys. You all hoped he wasn't re-signed all because he sooked, (manager more to blame for). He's the over-rated hack.

Now that carney has screwed up again, its become a case of the club has an image to protect, he's a loose cannon too much drama etc etc.

Doesn't make much sense to me!! Bit of double standards?

If we were to keep carney and have a repeat of last season, majority are going to jump on his bandwagon again. The club is going to have to take extra steps in keeping him in line cause it gets us the results and thats what we all want. People can carry on about protecting the image but at the same time you're all going to be putting a compliant to management when this club will struggle to win even if our image is corrected. He hanged around Watts and Myles who had his fair share of trouble at our club, both gone!

At a rough guess any or all of the following:

Making sure he is looked after in France etc so it doesn't look like we're just tossing him out
In conjunction with the first point, ensuring another NRL club doesn't sign him
Getting the story out of the headlines so the team could focus on winning games at the backend of the season
Waiting to make the announcement when the media is more focused on covering the finals series

It's not like all Carney's previous sins, faults, non-perfections, lifestyle etc were hidden from view when the club signed him.

They were all out in the open, on clear and open display.
                        All of them.

Yes it was all Carney's fault that we had a bad year this year, didn't make the finals or feature in the Dally M awards this year.

All Todd's fault Mini ran like a two year old in the last few weeks and not the rest of the year...as Todd affected his mind.

I'm glad you said if. I'd hate to see what you'd say if Carney had done something of that magnitude. Put it into perspective JT.

Because he has a contract. Caring about Roosters colours does not overide contract law. The club has shown complete class and maturity in dealing with this situation.

                              Please don't hurt my feelings.

In light of recent events and your contribution I would have thought you would be one of the first to realise that at the end of the day it is just a game. If your life revolves around a game of football you are seriously lacking in life. Yes it can provide great joy. I am just as passionate as anyone, and if we lose I am dirty for the week, but I am also "intelligent" enough to realise that it means very little in the scheme of things.

Perhaps you need a little more in your life.
