  • If we are really in the hunt for an outside back, I'd hope the club goes hard out for Folau rather than Ferguson. Folau seems to be much more consistent and more importantly reportedly has the same sense of professionalism and work ethic as SBW.

And I can't see us releasing SKD, if he was really out of favour you would have thought he'd be playin for Newtown now right? Even though our outside back depth isn't that crash hot.

    • Skd over fergo. Skd has shown great loyalty qualities and signs of a great leader. On the other hand fergo has commitment problems, and also poor attitude.

      • Folau is a power athlete. Big, fast and strong but he's no creator or ball player. I wouldn't call him X factor. Moga is that style. They need to be put thru a gap, when that happens they can finish better than most.

Fergo is a freak. He's RTS with size. He has that freakish ability to destroy a side from anywhere on the field. Think Hayne, GI. X factor.

I said it before game 2 and game 3 of origin. We were no chance without X factor.

IMO he'd be one of the very few players available who could maybe fill $BWs boots if he goes. In a different way of course, but he'd attract plenty of attention freeing up players around him to shine, as they are now.

        The FlogPen .

        You know it makes sense.

It's not like we have no X factor already though, RTS and Jenko are both players who can destroy from anywhere and if SKD somehow got back to 2010 SKD we'd be unstoppable.

We have plenty of talented forwards. Napa, Evans, Langi, Liu, to go along with the established guys in JWH, Moa, Cords, Aubo, FPN, LOD, Guerra as well as Casty.

            Plenty! Even if SBW leaves.

It's the backs that we lack depth. Moga has had back to back ACLs and Nene McDonald is a little raw. Outside of those two we're very thin for back ups.
I think Evans will struggle with injury early in his career, his build is a problem, as for Napa, he will need another season to develop. Apart from these two we are short of good experienced props, the Frenchman from Catlans is very small and JWH will need another big bopper to join him. As for the backrow, we need another ball playing back rower, our current contenders apart from SBW and Cordner don't have the X factor quality.

            • If he comes, I'll welcome him. If he doesn't, I won't miss him.

He would be worth the pain.

              • Trent Robinson was just interviewed on 702. He said we have no space for Blake.

He was then asked about SBW next year. He sounded like he'd be surprised if Sonny doesn't re-sign.

                  • If reports are true that fergo is not interested in the biggest money offer, then it would be nice to swap skd for him so canberra get some sort of compensation.

I like skids and would be happy for him to stay at chooks though.

                    • Pearcey in a press conference and the DT said today about how good SBW has been in terms of delivering a professional work ethic and culture and stuff to the club, anyone worried it will unravel when he leaves? Like the discipline, not so much behaviour in the public and stuff, but the discipline and culture at training and stuff? Like is anyone worried the standards and attitude will slip if he leaves?

That was a brilliant article today that penners would enjoy reading...and a pic the girls may enjoy.

Can anyone post a link? I'm not tech savvy enough..

They removed the story from their website otherwise I would have been happy to oblige. I did like how the DT did say that our healthy culture was well and truly in place anyway before SBW came along. He seems to have objected to have been linked to Ferguson as well. That speaks volumes for me. He has nothing to do with us whatsoever and those who continually try and connect him to us, give it up. He's not coming to Easts. End of story..

Not me because Trent instilled a lot of this back in November, way before SBW came along. He is indeed the cherry on top of the cake, but not the whole cake. The guys were well and truly on the organic diets even before Christmas and it was JWH who suggested the squad go dry for awhile, not SBW. Not to take away or diminish what he has brought to the team but the leadership group including our very own former headline harry's in Jake and Mitchell stepping up and playing like world beaters and not getting trashed anymore is due to their own levels of maturity and respect for the jersey.
