You are the only constantly questioned for playing the business game in a shady way. Your club is the reason so many other clubs struggle and have to pay out the arse for players. It's not just who you buy, but also who make impossible to keep.
The difference is our club doesn’t see itself as bigger than the game.
Never forget that South Sydney only exist today because of Nick Politis. A bit of appreciation and respect on your part wouldn’t go astray.
The Roosters are the benchmark for player welfare, both during and post career. That’s the reason players come here.
It’s up to South Sydney and others to raise themselves to compete with our standards not try to drag us down to yours.Last edited by Noosa Rooster; 03-01-2023, 01:05 PM.

Mods, delete this ShadowCaster fellow. I respect his ambition to learn literacy by joining up on the Chooks forum to take back some knowledge to the Warren but there are books and Youtube videos for that kind of stuff now.
To my fellow Easts lads, stop giving him a reaction. We know how shite Souffs are as a club, they know it aswell. We don't need to blow a gasket over some bloke coming on here.

I mean, Andre Reiue and Celine Dion are popular. Miles Davis and Tom Waits less so.
The latter two are undeniably the greater contributors to the human experience.Last edited by Salvatori Grubber; 03-01-2023, 08:04 PM.Making Steve Naughton look like Vince Mellars...

Even the little flea The Mole having a artless dig at us now
HOW DOGS MISSED PREMIERSHIP STAR
So what happened to the rumours that swept the game a couple of weeks ago that Spencer Leniu was a done deal at the Bulldogs?
In the end, the Bulldogs pulled their offer for the Penrith juggernaut and the Panthers realised they couldn't keep him for the money he was asking.
That left the Roosters as the only horse in the race, and Leniu signed for around $520,000 per season on the books.
The Bulldogs were never confident they would get the big forward - so much so that supremo Phil Gould never even spoke to him or his manager, leaving negotiations with coach Cameron Ciraldo.
Ciraldo could tell Leniu was keener on the Roosters - and that's when he withdrew his offer.

Without giving too much fuel to the Souffs bloke and the media in general, I do find it infuriating that we get accused of "poaching" or "stealing" players. It's very ironic that a foundation club that has given the most to Australian rugby league that has had almost its entire geographical catchment get handed to other, less successful clubs over the years, gets accused of poaching.
Then rather than pack it in and merge or exit the comp like lesser clubs, we have future-proofed our franchise by becoming the best in class in terms of player recruitment (both in lower grades and NRL), culture and performance.
I assume these fools that accuse of poaching and rorting the cap want to compare other clubs like Brisbane, Penriff, Canberra, Cowboys to Easts.
So basically they expect the same amount of quality/talent to come out of 2-3 affluent suburbs in Eastern Syd that comes out of the entirety of Queensland or Western Sydney or Canberra/Southern NSW. Then the one's that do come out of those affluent Eastern suburbs every so often get claimed by a team representing the South of Sydney.
Get real and get better...Last edited by HunchoRooster; 03-01-2023, 02:44 PM.

They did have a lot of players in that squad who debuted at Souths which is great but you're misrepresenting how many of them were genuine Souths juniors, from memory a majority of the Roosters grand final sides have featured players who debuted at the Roosters as well.
