Tallis accuses Roosters of cheating the cap

I'm the lone Rooster in my family like my fellow Chookpenner who uses that name.

Without giving too much fuel to the Souffs bloke and the media in general, I do find it infuriating that we get accused of "poaching" or "stealing" players. It's very ironic that a foundation club that has given the most to Australian rugby league that has had almost its entire geographical catchment get handed to other, less successful clubs over the years, gets accused of poaching.

Then rather than pack it in and merge or exit the comp like lesser clubs, we have future-proofed our franchise by becoming the best in class in terms of player recruitment (both in lower grades and NRL), culture and performance.

I assume these fools that accuse of poaching and rorting the cap want to compare other clubs like Brisbane, Penriff, Canberra, Cowboys to Easts.

So basically they expect the same amount of quality/talent to come out of 2-3 affluent suburbs in Eastern Syd that comes out of the entirety of Queensland or Western Sydney or Canberra/Southern NSW. Then the one's that do come out of those affluent Eastern suburbs every so often get claimed by a team representing the South of Sydney.

Literally Andrew johns this afternoon on freddy and the eightffffff.

They spent half the show cranking on about the Roosters signings, bringing up all the tired tropes (draft,players salaries bring made public, scrapping 3rd party deals etc)

Imagine what the other club bosses might have to say about that.

Then they spoke about Farnsworth and Flegler going to the dolphins and it was : "good buys"

Didn't bat an eyelid. They would probably fall back on rothfields ridiculous speculative article as a basis for their logic.

Either find the mythical second set of books or shut the hell up.

@ism, he has been a big South Sydney fan for about 15 or so years now he was on their coaching staff or board of directors something like that a long time ago and he clearly doesn’t like the Broncos anymore. You gotta love round one...It wouldn't be the same without salary sombrero jokes and the Roosters poaching. I just make a joke of it myself before anyone else gets in. We are doing our 10km walk today for cancer and we all had to raise a minimum of $250 as a condition of entry. I'm team captain and raised $1,450 on my own as of yesterday. I said there is no salary cap on donations if you are a Roosters fan. I feel like I'm off to a Roosters game as I have my backpack ready and wearing one of my T-shirts. We've raised $824,674 so far and thank you to those on here who sponsored me also.

Other clubs can go whistle up a gum tree. Apparently we have no fans also, (can't wait for the commentary on that one on Sunday about how the Dolphins fans outnumber ours) but funny how even just on this forum, many of us go out of our way to help, encourage or support one another when we need it. Quality not quantity. We have our own little family on here as some of us don't have fellow Roosters fans as relatives.
