touche, what try was that?
As I pointed out if no play the ball error Roosters complete the set with a kick on the last and the Raiders are rucking the ball out from their end of the field.
The Kick that Manu made the error on - obviously intended to let it bounce then made a split second decision to try and catch the ball- came off his arm /body and Raiders regain the ball and 6 again and score - If Manu catches the ball the Raiders try would not have been scored- Roosters would be in possession on tackle 1
The Causation affect - The capacity of one variable to influence another. The first variable may bring the second into existence
Or
Cause and effect - the relationship between two things when one thing makes something else happen.Last edited by King Salvo; 06-07-2022, 11:58 PM.

i think part of momo's problem is that he is not a highlight reel player , never has been . so i think when he misses a big tackle like he did against the raiders, thats what people remember his main contribution to that game as. whereas the highlight reel players manu, teddy, tups sure they make errors but may do something brilliant to offset it.
i guess momo with the heat he has copped in recent weeks , fans are sort of now waiting for his defensive mistakes , and when he makes one , it is " ahhhhh, i knew he was useless " etc.
tbh i expected more from him this year, but i expected more from the entire team , still time to turn it around , but they better get cracking.

The Rooster forwards have lost their mongrel. We used to intimidate in defence and play direct and hard in attack- it's just not happening this year. Without JWH there was no one to step up against Canberra. I hope Lindsay Collins finds his mojo in SOO and brings back his old form- we really need him to get back to his game like it was before he done his ACL.
Blaming Momo....thats just bullshit

Plenty of NRL fans had him as a top tier defensive centre last season but again the question is…. Did the domination from Penrith simply hide these issues we are seeing now in a lesser defensive side?

And it's our captain's (whoever that was) fault too, for not challenging loss of the ball in the ruck by Suaalii, clearly shown to have been kicked by Raider's player.
The bunker officials should've reversed the ref's decision after they saw the replay.
They didn't.
No wonder Origin is on the slide.
Club games could be next, if they're not already.

We were spoilt with the Morris bros defensively.

Im soryy but this thread is a disgrace The Roosters have had far worse players play first grade that Paul Momorovski I dont think Momo would get a start in our worst 17 line up for the last 50 yearsI respect all our moderators here. Past present and even future. Always have done and always will do a wonderful job.

Momo has his moments both good and bad. His hands in the lead up to Teddy's try against the Sharks were incredible and worthy of a highlights reel. I would go as far as to say if that had been Manu making that play we would still be seeing the replay but he's not 'sexy' enough for that sort of accolade. He's also shown some pretty handy footwork at different times. Yes, he's made some defensive errors, but there have been heaps of players far worse then him in my time watching the Roosters

Originally posted by Waylander View PostMomo actually has a better Tackle Efficiency percentage than Teddy, Manu & Suualii. Unfortunately, some of those he has missed have been crucial moments in the game.
For example if Joey Manu shows his opposing centre the outside and then hits the player who then jumps/runs backwards because the opportunity has been shut down that is considered a missed Tackle.
A bad read in defence for example when a centre rushes rushes out and takes no one leading to a try isn't recognised as a missed tackle because they didn't touch anyone.
Victor Radley has one of the worst Tackle efficiencies in the game because he will hit a player, drop them to the ground or knock them sideways and then another defender or two will come and flop in to finish off the tackle. Again that would be a missed tackle.
When you measure it on say linebreaks conceded or tries conceded then you get a more accurate read. Meaning defnsive action that lead to an opposition try or linebreak.
On average centres with the fewest tries conceded:
1. J Olam
2. P Hiku
3. S Talakai
4. J Manu
5. S Chrichton
On average centres with the fewest linebreaks conceded:
1. S Kris
2. J Manu
3. S Talakai
4. S Crichton
5. J Olam
*Only considered centres who have player more than half the season.
