Well there you go. Has Salvo got the stats for Momo's missed tackles so far this season? Would be very suprised if he wasn't top 3 in the NRL.

I can see it now 2030 and Paul Momo retires a club legend from the roosters after a successful 8 years at the Chooks . Probably get life membership as well
      Completely missed the point.

Disagree Momorovski has had a decent month of footy before he missed one tackle on the weekend. I don't see 100 post threads every time one of our players misses a key tackle.

When you remove the emotion and bias from it and analyse his performance statistically he hasn't been that much worse than a lot in our team defensively.

That is the definition of a scapegoat. The lack of balance and proportion around criticism to praise is so heavily skewed when compared to output.

            Momirovski is 50th - Walker 7th and Manu 17th

Other media outlets like TV & radio have questioned aspects of his game also. Should they hold off their criticism also?
I didn't say anyone should hold off on their criticism.

I'm criticising the level of criticism on here, it is disproportionate towards Momorovski.

                    • He’s not playing well, both attack and defence - at least not to his capabilities.

He’s also not nearly as effective as a Latrell or Manu and the comparisons are natural. But, he’s better than what he’s shown and we gotta back him to improve, which I think he will. He’s been in good systems and on the surface understands/ meets those expectations - just had some slips with us.

the truth lies somewhere in the middle of both arguments for mine. He’s not a trash player but he’s also not meeting our standards across 80mins.

That try made heads drop & burnt precious minutes off the clock. Then they got the ball back from the kick-off.
Did you actually watch the game?? - Roosters had 43 tackles in the Raiders red zone for a short range/barge over type try and a try from a kick - how many consecutive sets did they have in the first half in the Raiders 20's/close to the line and couldn't break them.

To say they could have traveled 90 metres and possibly scored a try if a tackle was made is fanciful at best as they had plenty of ball 54% possession and as I mentioned 43 tackles in their Raiders red zone to do so during the game.

They managed only 16 points despite having the possession and field position advantage - made more yardage in each set that Raiders but there attack is still not clicking or producing the consistent results required.

Reminds me of the 1978 side who scored quite a few tries from kicks compared to other try scoring methods. - maybe they should look at that or even earlier teams and put the Johnny Peard type bomb up near the Posts since they are struggling to cross the strike from close range.

I would be more looking at those two line breaks by Sitili and Watson and wondering why there was no support players - 2 tries gone begging for sure

I think it’s disproportionate because we all see the value in Manu,Ted,Toops and JS, for any errors they do, they do more than make up for it.

Momo doesn’t have the physical ability of any of those guys, he was touted for his great defence, but I can’t remember when it has stood up when tested, but neither do many of the guys that Robbo has to replace him, maybe billy smith is worth another shot, he would be on a hiding to nothing, but so is everyone at our left Center at the moment.

Look at the players you just listed though.

Teddy - Best fullback in the game
Tupou - Top 3 winger in the game
Manu - Best centre in the game
Suaali - One of the most exciting rookies in the game

There's a salary cap and as much I would have loved to of season Latrell and Manu play out their careers in the 3 & 4 for the Roosters there's a reality we need to accept.

Momorovski has conceded 6 tries this year, NRL players who have played at centre this year and average more:

                            Schoup
                            Marsters
                            Kelly
                            Timoko
                            Graham
                            Best
                            Arthars
                            Ramien
                            Berry
                            Penisini
                            Farnworth
                            Herbert
                            Gagai
                            Harper
                            Averillo
                            Tuala
                            Milne
                            Koula
                            Gildart
                            Suli
                            To'a
                            Naden
                            Sami
                            Seve
                            Vailea
                            Valemei
                            Burns
                            Opacic
                            Paulo
                            Parker

The crticism is over the top.

I really want the guy to play well & not cop the heat. I remember his try in the prelim final to knock out South's a few years back but unfortunately that's my last positive memory of him in our colours.

Unfortunately he has to face the worst possible team this week to try to right his form & confidence. Hope he has a blinder & scores the winning try.
