A bad off-season for ex-Roosters - Fergo arrested

I don't get any of it, illegal drugs are illegal for a reason.
Fergo has really done it this time...and might not be sleeping in his own bed for a while...if what is alleged is true.
Japan is not his backyard, let alone the seedy parts.
Now look what's happened.
Dirty and seedy parts of Japan, he should've stayed away.
Up to 5 years in prison for possession of illegal drugs in Japan.
If one is going to be banged up abroad in Asia, Japan is certainly better than Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, China, Singapore.
He obviously hadn't been paying attention to world events since Schapelle's arrest in 2004, and all the things detailed about severe punishments for drug possession.
If he's innocent he should say it loudly. If he's guilty he should issue a grovelling apology to Japan and throw himself on the mercy of the court.

Re Japan... not sure if I mentioned it in my earlier rant but a friend (Japnese dude - a jazz musician) got busted with a joint because his ex-wife dobbed him in while they were battling over custody (she did it to rub him outta contention). He spent 6 months in prison and was the face of all local media for at least a month. They take this shyte seriously and Fergo shoulda known!

When I visit my daughter in Japan, my ex-wife (the one who tried to kill me, abducted our daughter + made various false claims to try and get me put away) is constantly trying to find shyte to pin on me. I know this isn't about me but I have PTSD from the DV and need to cool my blood right down so that my body language can in no way be interpreted as aggressive. She always plays the system to the max by making big scenes in public while trying to get bypassers to go 'oh... what's that meddling foreigner doing to that sweet girl?!?'

Believe it or not, my blood has to be ice cold (I ramble + go crazy and shyte ob here but in Japan, I'm in ice mode... always watching everything I say/do because my ex is always trying to find a way to get me banned from accessing our daughter. She's previously employed hackers + private investigators to stalk the fark outta me, looking for flaws to exploit...etc so I have to be on my absolute best behaviour). That aside, I know I'm in a foreign land, so I don't fark around regardless of all that! Same with any foreign country!!! While I'm a PR, speak fluent Japanese and have family/friends...etc, I CANNOT fark around because I'm always gonna stand out as the big foreign dude. I'm really disappointed that Fergo's done this because most foreigners (me included) have a tough time getting into Japan right now. Stuff like this makes us all look stupid an reinforces stereotypes about us. Massive stuff-up IMO! Disappointing coz I like Fergo, thought he'd turned a corner and a few years playing ruggers in Japan coulda set him up really nicely. Sigh...

He's no Sir Paul McCartney so will spend more than 9 days in a Japanese prison one suggests.- I did read cocaine use can incur up to 5 years hard labour in Jail in Japan and a person can be detained in a Japanese jail for up to 23 days without charge.

mmm not having any drugs on you would be the best option one would say. No way you would be accepting someone passing you such items in Japan and especially China/Thailand/Indonesia/Malaysia.

Of course Ism turns this into a story about himself. Damn man. Your views on Japan are very different to mine.

One thing that is true is how much trouble he is. I imagine he is in a cell right now. Most likely he will spend up to a month in a cell before being deported and marked never to return. As a rugby player in Japan he is a company employee of NEC so it is almost a given that he has been terminated from his contract.
