Just on Carter, Smith and the forwards... it's a bruising pack we've assembled when these guys will be backin up Napa, JWH and Cords.

I think our pack will be awesome this year. As good as 2015 where they dominated like no pack I've ever seen (except 2013 i guess) until JWH went down.

Anyone else remember when we won a similar comp at SFS many years ago? I remember spending two days there in the bright sunshine watching Whiz Freeman do his thing for us. Maybe it was 7s. Can't remember.
But I do remember Gary Freeman was a great player in the shorter format of the game.

Great show lads...love the 9s and much more so when we win. Be great to stage it in Sydney at Allianz preferably.

Learnings for me were that Watson can ball play and set up his man. That right fake and back to the left to release Lewis and win the qf was brilliant...any playmaker would be proud of that.

And Chris Smith...starting to like his style. Not sure where he fits but he looks the right goods.

If what the club was saying at the back end of last year is still true Chris Smith will be used in the prop rotation this year. I said earlier there's been a lot of talk about Liam Knight & Nat Butcher but they're probably still a couple of seasons away. It will be the likes of Chris Smith, Zane Tetevano, & Paul Carter who could really come into contention this year and offer the team something.

I just love the idea of players pressuring others to make a spot in the 13. For all his rep experience Guerra is one that could be challenged once everyone is back on board.

Yes TJ i too like the idea however, if the coach isn't prepared to drop his pet players for below par performances, then there's no reward for others.

Perhaps Matterson may do some kicking as seen in 2016.There is a possibility that Keary and Watson could very well be on the field the same time should the queenslander keary be a fill in dummy half for his fellow quenslander and capt.

Matterson looks bigger & better than Guerra

Agree and has a lot more upside to him, also like the look of Chris Smith. We have a plethora of backrow options and I hope Robbo dangles the carrot to all.

If Guerra doesn't perform in the first 3 rounds it is time to piss him off to Wyong, that is enough incentive for him to perform in a contract year if he wants to demand decent coin from other clubs.

Going back over the first half dozen pages, there were plenty of those giving the negative bullshit Thirteen.

And plenty of people who hate the nines and weren't going to watch......

For what it's worth, I agree with most comments about our pack next year - Carter, Chris Smith and Matto stood out for me. Loved the fact that Carter was the first one downfield to high 5 Aubs when he put in that long kick and tackle to force the goal line dropout.

Don't think Guerra was as bad as most people are making out, although he does have a real fight on his hands to keep his spot in FG.

Top 4 this season for me.
