  • Really impressed by Lewis on wing. Any intelligence on him?

Aubs should do more kicking in games if he can get his hands on the ball late in the count.

I'm not a Guerra fan but his D with Aubs and Smith was outstanding.

    Carter is our Ned LOD

Been a fan of Watson since his debut. I think Kearny was a panick buy but the positive is competition for spots

    • I dont think we should kid ourselves keary will be 5/8 round 1, i think robbo should try watson at fb in the trials and if works well gordon defends fb, connor plays attack ala minichiello rts in 14, he simply cant be on the bench but i still think currently keary is the more rounded 5/8 , jeez all of a sudden im excited about this season

        • At the very least Keary is a deadly interchange dummy half.

As you said the key is competition for spots. We have it all over the park.

As for Watson, perhaps he could even challenge Gordon for fullback. He has similar attributes to Ben Barba with his blinding acceleration.

Though thankfully he's nothing like Barba off the field.

A fresh Watson of the bench is going to be our secret weapon...He'll run rings around tired defenses.

Perhaps Matterson may do some kicking as seen in 2016.There is a possibility that Keary and Watson could very well be on the field the same time should the queenslander keary be a fill in dummy half for his fellow quenslander and capt.

I'll chip in for a Chinese meal for Jordan Kahu with a lucky fortune cookie.

                • Big lol@Cowgirls... brought their whole 1st grade team over to New Zulland and still got bundled out pretty early on.

Drongos too... Boyd, Hair puller, Gillett, Milford, Blair, Oates, Kahu...etc. They showed up wanting to win! Good on them for risking all their best porcelain plates, but I'm so happy it didn't pay off for them.

My joy went in this order:
                  - Glad no QLD team can win
                  - Glad Storm can't win
                  - Oh eff, we frigging won the this?!?!? WTF, last man standing or something? EASTS FTW!!! Damn and that was with a heap of fringe players!!

Yep I don't think we can go wrong with either Watson or keary off the bench. The "wall" was back today for the nines, let's hope defence is the major improvement for the regular season too.

You are right, but the ref still stuffed up. Penrith should have taken their conversion from where Latrell finally tackled him, which was about 10metres from the upright.
Instead the refs made them take the ball back to where Cleary first went over, about 20metres wide. You can clearly see Cleary did not ground it out there. He kept it in the crook of his arm and got up and tried to improve the position. A smart play.
Thankfully for us the ref didn't see it that way and they had to take the harder conversion.

                        • Great show lads...love the 9s and much more so when we win. Be great to stage it in Sydney at Allianz preferably.

Learnings for me were that Watson can ball play and set up his man. That right fake and back to the left to release Lewis and win the qf was brilliant...any playmaker would be proud of that.

And Chris Smith...starting to like his style. Not sure where he fits but he looks the right goods.
