I have always been against these " other comps" i.e. The nines, city/country, origin etc more for the injury risks than anything else, however I really hope we get to see Keary and Watson running around together this weekend, I doubt Friend and Teflon will be playing so these 2 may get to run the show, Garvey also will be good to see against the big boys.

Forgive my ignorance as haven't watched a lot of the nines in the past. I would have thought a long kicking game was not so important for nines. Pearce or Friend are hardly top exponents of the short kicking game anyway.

You are right, it still plays a part but far less important.

Personally I enjoy the 9s more than the normal comp games which can be boring and more "controlled".

Something about the hitherto footy deprivation and open style of play that I like.

Souffs won the 9s two years ago on the back of Reynolds kicking game. Especially his long kicking game.

I actually think it's the most important aspect of 9s besides defence I guess.

FFS why are we always the last club to name our teams! Just release it already! It's ridiculous really. It's not like we're getting some sort of advantage here. Not like rival coaches are going to be scratching their heads and shaking in their boots with out squad in any case.
