My original home country was faced with 'breeding out' on a much larger scale by both the german and soviet empire. Funny thing is that I have never considered Goodes' background prior to this episode. The thought never entered my mind. To me he was just a great competitor on the footy field.

Now the political and racial grandstanding begins.

Its a shame that it will now overshadow his actions on the field.

My son plays afl. Im starting to really dig it.
It's really great for the kids....you don't have the psycho parents and pressure to perform. It's all very dignified. Which surprises me about the Goodes thing. I've really followed the afl over the last couple of years.Goodes is awesome. I have started supporting GWS. Been to a few games. Great vibe. Close to the action. Good product.
In my opinion, regardless of his race.....(I do love indigenous people and think they do deserve compassion in our society) he needs to show leadership not self indulgence. He is not a rookie nor a pushover. He has a massive following. People admire him. Don't fold mate, you are not doing your race any justice.

I used to laugh when AFL started making inroads into NSW. Waste of money I thought.

Now seeing how much more professional they are from ground up, I firmly believe, it will become a dominant code here in 10-15 years.

Just an observation from both playing in their adult competition and witnessing their junior programs.

Johnny's point, and a valid one at that, is that a 30+ year old man should know better than to spotlight a child on national television asking the security to remove her. What she said was disgraceful, however any adult with a shred of common sense would of approached it any other way but the one used. A child with little understanding does not need the weight of media scrutiny on her shoulders, especially if she is to be properly educated on the real issue.

This isn't aimed at anyone in particular. Just my 2 cents. But I am truly at a loss to understand some of the attitudes and discrimination directed at Indigenous Australians in the year 2015. How do people keep beating on the beaten? A brief look at the history of Indigenous Australians post European colonization reveals a people that have well and truly been ****ed. Much of their heritage, cultures and languages have been destroyed. There aren't even many left ffs.

Im with you, i never even questioned his background prior to his war dance that was directed at opposition fans, i found it a sign of arrogance. If chris judd did something similar to opposition fans i would think the same. Some people love getting in a race debate as soon as there is a chance, imagine if there was an aboriginal referee, the boos for a bad decision would be mistaken as a racial incident by some.
