They had negotiations for a while but it looks like Manly were prepared to offer one year at a lesser value until he came out in the media, made them look like the bad guys and they fired back with a two year offer to save face knowing he wouldn't accept it. Seems to have been ugly.

Whereas Turbo is happy to take $400K less and even said he would be happy to take even less if it were to save some of the young guys staying.

A true Manly boy vs one who is all for himself after Manly set him up for life the past 14 years. Of course he CGAFF which young guys we might lose in the process or set others back.

His on-field performances have been pretty ordinary. All he is good for is 6 hit ups and 52m. Every now and then he throws in getting put on report and the odd suspension.

being dumped from origin puts us in a good position if the deal and the amount haven't been signed off on. not to mention him not playing origin makes him a more attractive proposition.

It isn't really so much a fixation, it probably comes across that way because people engage with me constantly about him and I enjoy hearty and spirited debate, if people just allowed me to give my view and didn't try to prove me wrong then I wouldn't be the "DCE Guy" however that's the fun of a forum I guess.

In short, I genuinely think he will play a part in us winning a premiership, I've felt since 2020 we needed a talented world class spine and we haven't had one since 2019. Teddy, Walker, DCE and Robson is a world class spine which SHOULD lead to premiership glory but at the end of the day I'm just a fan and far from an expert so I could be wrong.

For what its worth if you looked through my post history you'd see I've been in favour of Ben Hunt and Dylan Brown to come over here also.
