But if your big insight is that DCE’s kicks “don’t count because they almost led to a try,” while Moses racking up a handful of half-breaks somehow makes him untouchable, maybe take a second to consider what actual selectors look for. Spoiler: it’s not angry forum posts about imaginary stats like “passes that looked a bit crap.”
Anyway, if you’re tapping out, fair enough — but maybe don’t call someone a dope on the way out when you just spent six paragraphs debating kicking difficulty like it’s nuclear physics.

No chance Savala is leaving & he’s happy to learn off him @ #14
Toby Rodwell will definitely be partnering Walker down the track with Savala transitioning into lock or backrow.
also hearing this is the best young crop of players we’ve had coming through for a very long long time.
DCE’s news has been positively taken in by the whole team & won’t cause any problems.

I wonder if Uncle Nick will announce DCE over the next few days after tonight’s performance saying that’s why we signed him.
Still hoping we haven’t signed him, he was a great player but this season he seems to struggled for the majority of it.
But I think he has done enough to keep that origin jersey.

Not Tommy T, Jake T, Taukeiaho or Paseka for Manly tonight. Their star player + starting props & lock. That was really poor from them.

The Broncos were just going through the motions in tonights game.

Also - back to us - we have come a long way since that 50-14 defeat. I’ve really enjoyed this year watching our team. There is a youthful energy that has been missing for a while. We look happy out there, and most of the squad has stepped up. Been great to seeEASTS TO WIN!

Looked at the highlights of the Manly/ Broncos game, and it appeared that Manly were on the rampage for most of the match.
Saw a few grubber kicks from DCE resulting in tries- thats about it, as far as his highlights are concerned.
And that is one of his best games.
He seems to me to be a bit of a one trick pony, these days.
I never doubted that he has a kicking game.
But is that all you look for in a halfback?
Brooks had just as good a game, if not better - at least he put a player through a hole with a pass.
Im still not convinced that DCE can remotely perform when the pressure is on.

DCE had 3 try assists (2 officially), almost set up another one and almost went in for a try also, his kicking game was phenomenal reaching the grass many times and turning the Broncos around, his defence was as solid as always, he kicked for over 800 metres, forced a repeat set and was a big part of why Olakau'atu had such a big game and yes, he put Olakau'atu through a hole from memory as well.
The pressure was on tonight, the media and fans have been blaming him for QLD's loss on Wednesday night, he's fighting for his spot and he comes out and puts on a clinic.Last edited by MKCS; 06-01-2025, 02:21 AM.
