IMO the election depends on what angle people take:
- Most voters (say 95% or so) will be voting for the same old party they've always voted for based on their personal set of social/economic principles. Moat people are either a Labor voter or a Liberal voter and that's that.
- Extremists from both the left and right will probably have niche issues and strong opinions that all major party politicians are farked.
-New/younger voters will enter the fray. If the media's to be believed then they all vote for the extremities and want housing... depending on how they lean, they either want the government to give them a free house, or the government to kick people of colour outta their homes so that they can have their homes & jobs. I think Trump's lunacy has shifted their sentiment away from the latter as they're seeing the economic carnage that protectionism/instability does.
- Oldies often either soften or become crusty old farks. We'll let them do that. Many just vote Lib/Labor because their father always said [party] were the best though (can be as dumb as that for many people across the spectrum).
---
PERSONALLY... I just want some farking stability. I'm a rusted on Labor voter (who is more conservative than people may think on some issues and COULD be convinced to vote for the Libs if they weren't dishing up Temu Trump style policies, and were instead saying 'leave the economy alone so that we can get some farking stability!!!')
Right now I think the centre right have proven they're the better economic managers than leaders like Abbott and Dutton though. We need a leader who can steady the ship... not a follower who's gonna go in with Trump style policies in order to earn brownie points from people like Gina and Palmer (who can both get farked BTW).
Albo's proven he can flip multiple Coalition deficits into surpluses. He's also been at the helm during a time where interest rates have been steady. PREDICTABILITY is good for investors. I feel the market is predictable with Albo because he's not trying to radically change shyte for the worse in order to feed some stupid agenda.
As an investor you want 'boring'. You want steady interest rates and no radical changes to the tax system. Trump''s failed because introducing tariffs... then exemptions... then no exemptions... then no tariffs...etc doesn't encourage people to invest. It makes people go 'FFS this is INSANE!!! I'm holding onto my money and taking no risks until this idiot is gaaaawn!!!'
Albo's 'boring' but a stable set of hands right now. Bit like Hutcho when we were on the ropes... don't do anything stoopid or rush to conclusions!!! Just make the safe, steady decisions and we'll be okay.
---
Old mate can create as many accounts as he wants and use as many expletives / schoolyard bully style insults as he likes. I'm on the right side of history when it comes to Gladys, Ayres, Abbott, ScoMo and Trump (as well as Quadvlieg and Pezzulo which is important as both were Dutton's appointments & mentors). I dare say I'll be on the 'right side of history' when it comes to Dutton and Albo as well.

You probably don't know that I was once a school master because I don't think that I've mentioned it on here and, boy, it was the time of the cane and did I lay it on the Barrens of this world. Inanity, disruptiveness, disrespect and general twat behaviour are never acceptable. Having been schooled in recent years when everyone gets a guernsey, you've apparently missed out on the harsher, but edifying, lessons of life. No response please, annoy someone who cares.

Margaret Pomeranz gave MAFS a withering serve in her Weekly spot the other night. Did you see it? The sneers were justified. TV could have been a great educator but it was given over to the merchants. We're being dumbed down wholesale. Soon we'll be just like the US.

Before we dive into a debate about whether climate change is linked to humans, I'll be honest — I really don’t know. I’m not a scientist, and I’m not in a position to judge whether what they’re presenting is credible or not. When it comes to climate science, I’m out of my league.
However I do believe in clean energy — solar, wind, hydro, biomass, tidal, geothermal — all of it. It's the right direction. Polluting the planet goes against nature itself, and sooner or later, that’s going to come back on us. I couldn’t care less about the fat cats or the coal industry pushing their bullshit just to protect their profits.
I believe that generations in the future like in 100 years will think how dumb were our ancestors to pollute this planet like we are.
Greed is the main contributor from humans who only care for the dollar & themselves.
I also play a part in all of it as well.
