Yeah nah I'm not a fan.

It was a little dry which didn't help.

A Sydney based franchise would be lucrative imo.
Fredo's pies tried that years ago and it failed in Sydney, mind you even in their prime Fredo's pies didn't come close to Haydens's pies so a Sydney franchise could work for Haydens.

Have this just down the road from where i live https://thepiefather.com.au/ . I haven't sampled from their shop yet but have had their pies at the Royal Easter Show and they are fabulous, the Mick Reuben is up amongst the best pies i have ever had and i also have enjoyed their lasagna pie and the stroganoff pies

Great name! I'll have to try one next time I'm up in Sydney.

Heritage Bakery at Milton is making nice pies again after a form slump when the new owners took over. The country chicken is respectable!

Yeah it's a strange one plus it was wrapped in bacon. Tricky one to get right!

            • That would be the Americans who created that. I never have been a fan of mixing proteins. No surf/turf or chicken/ham together. Tonight I'm making pineapple and quinoa stirfry with lots of veges. Had honeycomb ice cream this afternoon as a holiday treat.

I would be happy if Maggie Beer came around to my place and cooked a whole roast goose, now that would be an absolute feast.

                • Ducked into one of our local dumpling places at Alexandria after going to Bunnings and the owner said sadly they will be closing as the building is being redeveloped for a medical centre. Half of the place closes in a few days but the kitchen and a small dining section will still trade till June, the owner said he is looking for new premises, just hope if and when they find a new venue it wont be a long way away as it is a lunch time and often Friday night dinner staple.

                    My mouth is watering.

I have some left over sauce from last nights lamb shanks so may do a pasta with a dash of cream. Big dash

I love Maggie Beer. Aside from being an amazing cook she comes across as a lovely person.

I love making some sort of dish out of the left over lamb shanks sauce, usually its some form of pasta. Talking of lamb shanks, Coles had a couple of packs of shanks reduced nicely and in date just before Christmas so i bought them and they are in the freezer now.
