One thing i didn't realise about Suaalii coming through is his lack of pace.
He has demonstrated his lack of pace on a few occasions. For someone who has a sprint coach I expected a bit more toe.

Yeah I've noticed this too ... thought he'd be able to burn past some opposition players with his long legs .... could it be that he's holding back or struggling to modify himself as because his running style etc has been questioned in recent times (knees high up) ?

Fitness and conditioning could be the other factor and over time he should be able to better his speed/pace !

        Nonsense media beat up.

One defence of Suaallii on this instance is that this is the first time in about 5-6 years that I've seen a winger in either League or Union, in any country, at any level transfer the ball into the correct hand.

Rex Mossop used to get flabbergasted when 1st grade wingers wouldn't/couldn't carry the ball in the correct arm. He'll be singing Allelujah in footyheaven.

Without any media influence I got the clear impression Suualii deliberately avoided giving the ball to Teddy after he bombed a previous certain try.

As Rex would've said about Suaalii's bust, 'He's gapped 'em to shreds'!

Suaalii is a natural/default right arm ball carrier ... if he was playing at right centre, no issues but yes, you're right, mate ... at least when he made that break he switched the ball to the left arm (maybe this switch action was the minor reason why he looked a bit slow and unsure on how to offload)

The other thing that gets me is 1st graders putting their heads in the wrong position when tackling, like Teddy did on the weekend. I know most people are right handed and tackling with the right shoulder is much easier, but as pro footy players, I can't believe many get this U15C's fundamental so wrong.

And while I'm on this tack, I cannot believe that Easts just cannot get the short kick off correct (in defence or attack). It's ludicrous. This one (and only this), I'm putting on Robbo.

A total invention by the media. Because apparently the Roosters have to choose between Sua’lli’i and Teddy in 2 years’ time, they’re trying to project tension between the two. Pathetic, gutter journalism - present a non-existent problem then use anything - ANYTHING - to “prove” it.

In real time I did wonder if Sua’ali’i thought twice about passing it to Teddy after he dropped Walker’s pass earlier, but on second viewing, he was just backing himself. It happened quick, and the try was scored, so I think that’s that.

Absolute genuine rubbish. Plenty of players have bombed try's by inexplicably not passing, and Joseph looked mighty relieved when we ended up scoring.

It wont be long before no one tackles below the waste except in those rubbish 3rd defender in tackles- I did hear kids are not being taught to tackle around the legs anymore.

Back in the day we would train twice a week - Tuesday and Thursday - Tuesday would be defence and Thursday the Attack.

Throw in the 2 markers having a rest allowing players to run from dummy half at will - markers are more like traffic cops or butlers in allowing that to happen.

Whether he knew it was teddy or not is debatable, but he did 100% look at his support and then elect to go himself. extremely selfish mistake that he’ll hopefully learn from.

I don’t think it’s really debatable that Teddy and Sualli are going to be competing at every training session for the next 2 years though. He’s made it clear he wants to be a fullback, and I can’t imagine we’ll have any chance of keeping him past 2024 given the dump trucks of money that will be offered to him by 16 other clubs plus union by then

I think it was a lack of confidence in his own passing ability so decided to take Martin on. Felt more secure in his ability to get past Martin then execute an inside ball to Teddy.
