Robinson is not immune to criticism, no one is. But let’s be real no one’s arguing Norfolk’s point because they think Robinson is perfect, it’s because he called him average. Like middle of the pack, not good or bad just mid. Just think about it for a second. Average.

My main issue with Robbo is that we havent adjusted as well to the new game of Rugby League post 2019, as have some other coaches/teams.
The less physical encounters and penalising intimidation through force has hurt us more than any other club. It was our point of difference and made us who we were across Robbos 3 premierships. It has brought us right back to the field. Throw in bad luck with injuries and weve been toast.
We need a plan B.
He is undoubtedly the most intelligent brain Ive seen in the game. Does that mean always the top dog as Coach? No.
What he has done for the club in terms of culture and professionalism has been incredible though. Even if he never won a comp, we owe him that hugetime.

Coz when he makes mistakes, they are usually very bad ones. I think he is the 3rd best coach in the game currently and probably our 2nd best coach in our near 120 year history. Far from average.
Dunno I just can't have Cleary ahead of Robbo due to our injury toll the last 2yrs. It's Bellamy & Robbo for me.

If you look at Skeletor's career achievements, you'd have to put him above Robbo even though he's a sour old cnt who has been passed by.
Cleary on current form has to be in the conversation given the fact they've lost about 6 games in nearly 3 seasons. Insane stuff.
Once you get past that crop though, its daylight to the next best coaches in the comp. Which shows average is not the right word.

Our defence was bruising and aggressive. Our team at its peak in 2013 and then 2018-2019 was the best defence the modern game has seen. The stringent rules now don't give us the luxury to be aggressive on the front foot without giving away penalties and the game is too fast to rely solely on tough defence. We started to evolve towards the back end of last season when we went on that run. Lodge played a huge part in it with his carries. JWH learnt too. Then we got swindled and the rest is history as they say.
The back end of last season has given me hope we have evolved.

I actually think the Roosters Way of playing tough with physicality is at odds with the new rules. It’s like the rules were specifically designed to nullify our advantage in this. We get penalised or ‘6 agained’ out of games as a result of it, and I worry that it’s also lead too our injury crises of the last few seasons. Rugba League is all about speed and pretty much touch footy these days.

when he does eventually retire from coaching, would love for him to become the director of football.
imagine how good it would be with him in charge of football operations without the stress of coaching. he would guide the culture of the club, academy, signings etc.
he has some flaws sure (like making his players lather their hands in oil before every game of footy) but until he retires, would rather no one else be in charge of the team
