  • IMHO, I would look to go with: Manu at 6, Walker at 7, the Morris brothers in the centres (to buy more time to ease Suaalii in), and Iku on the other wing spot. Sammy will obviously play at 9. Hutch can come off the bench, as required, and Adam and Lachie can battle it out to cover as necessary, with Keighran leading the charge, on form and due to the fact that he is a goal kicker. All three of these guys are more experienced halves or hookers if need be.

Sadly, I think there could be further injuries in 25 or so more weeks so, regardless of what combination we come up with, it will inevitably change anyway.

Our depth may well prove to be our saving grace. Let's see.

    MRR or Rabid

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

    • Interesting that the bookies think that without keary we are at the same odds to win the comp as Canberra and more likely than parra

      • Need to blood the young guys now.
Manu to 6 ( I was thinking at the beginning of the season that could have been an option when we played Raiders - he may keep Wighton quiet)
        Hutch to 7.
Sam W and Rads to bench for the next game, to ease them in.
Suualii or Iku in the backline.
Sometimes the young kids come in , surprise everyone, and make a difference.
This year is going to be a year of consolidation , I would be amazed if we were a serious threat for the title.
Except for Lindsay Collins, our forwards aren't putting a dent in opposing sides, and we are not making the metres in attack that our forwards did in the premiership years.
It is most evident against the top sides, and against Souffs we couldn't stop their roll on in attack.
As a result , we are no longer dominating field position and we are going sideways in attack, like lots of commentators have mentioned.
I guess I will need to reserve judgement until Rads, Sam V, and the possibility of Cords & Friend come back , then see what happens.
At the end of the year BMoz and JMoz (most likely) retire
It is the changing of the guard.
The aura of the Roosters and the Bondi Wall is evaporating , but the building blocks can be put in place to set it up again.
I'm happy to sit on the sidelines and cheer the Roosters on , and hopefully, watch this happen.

How would Manu keep Wighton quiet? He’s still a very average tackler.

Yep keep dping this until they've worked out who is ready for the weekly grind. We'll win enough games to stay in the top 6.

            • Canberra went all the way to the Prelim Finals minus their captain and hooker Josh Hodgson last year, and they lost him early in the season.

No reason we can’t do the same with an equivalent if not better roster.

If Manu is selected as our long term 5/8 , I guess we will find out when the Roosters meet the Raiders.

                • Our problem is we are running out of troops. A few more injuries and we will be in for a very long, disappointing season. We just seem to have the worst injury toll this year like we did last year. Why us? Is it just bad luck or is it a result of the speed of the game and because our poor discipline giving away 6 agains is taking its toll.

But it’s a new day and I am looking forward to the Walker/Suualii era starting earlier than expected.

Can't remember or don't want to remember? hehe

Whilst not 100% sure i think it was early in season 2018. Must have been after a bad loss like against the Warriors 30-6, or the Rd 6 Souths loss 26-14 or the Rd 8 saints loss by 24-8. Probably the flag came out after the Souffs loss, that team brings out the worst in emotions

No way it was 2019, everyone was too positive that yr.

Anyways, I'm not been too critical of the flag waving, it was just a prediction gone wrong, very wrong hehe.

Indeed. That's why i rarely post now in game day threads...too many silly things said in the heat of the battle, when emotions run wild hehe

Despite the injuries there are opportunities for players to come in and step up to the challenge - they have made the NRL squad for a reason - need to show why they belong and are an NRL player.

Chooks aren't a one man band though and there are enough quality players to be competitive going forward - need belief/trust and commitment from all 17
