I agree and can mods shut it down or put it into other discussion forum.

It's sounding like talkback radio only we have Bongon Boy as our shock jock....

Perhaps u could start up a separate thread Bongon Boy's Current Affairs discussion thread in other discussion.

Roosters discussion should be predominantly about Roosters footy, etc, we get enough info about Covid-19, and discussion on it on relevant social media, news websites, etc.

If we are to continue to talk about it, pls move it so it's not thrust onto the main page or for Christ sake close this thread down.....

BTW for me, this has been the worst thread ever....

    Cruising makes people happy.

Here is a song from those wonderfully hatted cruisers who sung the original tune to Roosterman.

I reckon this disrupted season could extend the playing careers of many who were going to retire at the end of it if it were a normal 25 rounds.

Before our air and sea travel bans are lifted...it should be clearly explained to every Australian citizen and permanent resident that from now on if they leave Australia they do so at their own risk, and own cost for every possible scenario.
Virgin is $5bn in debt. Only 10% owned by Branson, the rest being Etihad, Singapore, and two Chinese companies.
    Tiger a subsidiary.
    Reportedly lost $700m last year.
$1.4bn rescue loan from ScoMo govt? maybe not.
    Maybe only QANTAS will survive.
Qantas staff should not have to be flying to all parts of the globe on rescue missions, some of them already caught Covid-19, the disease from the Corona virus. The disease has neurological effect on the body, shuts down organs...apparently.

The warnings should very seriously given.
Next time, things for infected cruise ships might be different.

Stupid people will still do stupid things.

As for the airlines. Qantas is our national carrier so could be argued for some assistance if needed but in general, airlines have been ripping the guts out of every day travelers for ever and make absolute squillions out of them. Let them bail themselves out for once like every other business in the country right now struggling to make ends meet.

Even though Branson only owns 10% nowdays, i bet hes still got all the cash behind him from the sale to the other corporations so surely he can step up to a degree and look after his 10%. . Why is it that our government that is struggling to look after our own, should be responsible to bail out a billionaire who will still be a billionaire after all this gets better?

Why should we support an airline that is majority owned (i believe) by Chinese corporations when the Chinese are the pricks responsible for this whole debacle? Again, they will still be wealthy mobs regardless of any Aus Gov assistance.

BTW, I dont know what the hell I am talking about. Its just sounds good to have a moan and groan.

Coronavirus distancing may need to continue until 2022, say experts

Physical distancing measures may need to be in place intermittently until 2022, scientists have warned in an analysis that suggests there could be resurgences of Covid-19 for years to come.

The paper, published in the journal Science, concludes that a one-time lockdown will not be sufficient to bring the pandemic under control and that secondary peaks could be larger than the current one without continued restrictions.

One scenario predicted a resurgence could occur as far in the future as 2025 in the absence of a vaccine or effective treatment.
Marc Lipsitch, a professor of epidemiology at Harvard and co-author of the study, said: “Infections spread when there are two things: infected people and susceptible people. Unless there is some enormously larger amount of herd immunity than we’re aware of … the majority of the population is still susceptible.

“Predicting the end of the pandemic in the summer [of 2020] is not consistent with what we know about the spread of infections.”

Gonna be a long haul by the look of it.
SARS was almost 20 years ago...surely all the brilliant minds in the world today can find a vaccine or pill sooner rather than later.
