After that he didn't make any misses that I am aware of, that hasn't been the case all season by a long shot. However as a starting front rower, he has a responsibility to contain the oppositions big men. Can we say he did that when Taupau ran wild for 290 metres? Anyone who has ever played football knows that the best way to limit the oppositions key men is to land a big blow or 2 (legally of course) early in the game to take the wind out of them. He didn't fire a shot, it was quite embarrassing to him and the other forwards that Victor Radley was the only player to take him on. So on that score I don't think his performance was that great.
90 of those metres came from kick off returns, extremely inflated statistic. He has 200 hitup metres from 20 hit ups, a par average of 10m a run and once Victor Radley smashed him he went MIA for the remainder of the game.

Trent Barrett has rubbished claims today about Taupau leaving Manly, saying he will be there until his 3 year contract runs out and he doesn’t need to be moved on due to salary cap constraints..
Can we close this stupid thread now that has no substance whatsoever??
Even the OP hasn’t bothered responding after his initial post lol
I honestly don’t see the point in starting a fake thread and misleading fellow supporters,so lame..

10m per hit-up is NOT par... it is well above average. I wish our forwards averaged 10m per hit up, then we wouldn't need another prop. SST is our only forward* who averages 10m+ per run, including kick returns.

            * Excludes FPN, who has 1 run for 11m.

If you want to see your team peaking in May I suggest you go and follow St George. Robbo has a plan for the team peaking around semi final time and that makes perfect sense to this rooster .

I recall vehement denials from "informed sauces" that Cronk and Teddy definitely weren't coming either..

i dont understand why we have to keep buying players that ideally we dont really need... Our pack is fine as it is IF they were coached and developed rightly.. back in 2014-2015 we had been labelled as the most feared pack in the comp and now we have one of the worst... i just dont get it. We dont need to keep splashing the cash on players, if anything we should splash it on our coaching staff and bring in top guys who can help our team grow and our youngsters develop....

An aggressive tough prop with a great offload sounds good to me.

Had the worst hands in Roosters history until we were treated to George Azzi and Michael Korkidas.

A prop that can offload like Taupau would be useful but we also need a specialist centre .

                              Agree bigtime here mate.

I hate how our fans always want to recruit our way out of trouble...its more to do with the mentors as you say.

exactly. Its no good bringing in these players if they aren't being used correctly in a game or being coached well enough to lift their game to the next level (ala- teddy, mitchell, cronk , manu ) . Teddy is a prime example of this because we havent even seen a quarter of what teddy is capable of the best being was rd 2 against the dogs. And cronk as well with our most lethal team on paper constantly fluttering in attack. We are not using these star players right and thats down to the coaching and tactical aspects of our game which belongs to our coaches.
