If Pearce had been paid a thousand dollars for every repeat set he got in his 10 years at halfback, he'd be down at Centrelink not heading up the M1.

I’ve always stated that I support whoever plays for the roosters but I support the club and the team even if I’m not in favour of any decision they make. With the Cronk signing how can I even contemplate it as a bad move? He’s the best (arguably) half and to have him play for us is a coup we should be thankful for. we should be thankful to uncle Nick for what he has done for our beloved team. If Pearce wants to go I’d say goodbye and thank you , hope you reach the potential you were expected to reach 5-6 years ago. Roosters for life.

OMR, i'm as passionate about the roosters as anyone. At 65 years of age, I have been going to rooster games for 50 years, and probably watched nearly everyone of those games ! But for me the roosters are more than a club name and a jersey. The players actually mean something to me. When players want to leave or are performing really poorly, say like a Julian Bailey, I get it that replacement players are sought. I just think big time sport has become pretty soulless when a long term good player is pushed out, I feel the clubs ruthlessness is pretty callous. Now Cronk is on board I will of course hope he performs well. I got to say when the roosters signed Anasta, Vautin and fulton in years gone by, players I had hated in the opposition, I was equally unhappy with their signatures. Freddy was different, he wasn't the heart and soul of Penrith but a player still on the rise. Its interesting how forgiving all rooster supporters who bag Pearce's antics, forgave Freddy for being drunk and shirtless on the footpath near a police station during his time with us !

I'm sure the club would have cut him after the dog rooting incident if we had a suitable replacement. I reckon he was always on borrowed time from this date, until a better option became available.
I will miss Pearce's passing game close to the line.
