Just wondering what role Joey had in the decision to replace Pearce. Perhaps Joey came to the realisation he could not be developed into an elite player??

imagine what Joey can do with Cronk and keary....salivating

Personally I'd rather Johns had nothing to do with our club.

I just don't see how this translates to him having "treated the club, his team mates, the fans and the sponsors with contempt"

With social media it s a bad look that is beyond doubt, but contempt? Really?
Once or twice can be classified as being the larrikan etc etc, i can cop that, this bloke has had an endless amount of second chances and final warnings, when your club and coaches have gone to great lengths to protect you, rehabilitate you and help you and you continually let them down through stupidity it is taking the piss and treating those that have done everything in their power to help you with contempt, surely a 10 yr veteran on 800k a year knows better and can pull his bloody head in

Does Joey still have a role at the club anyway? I can't see how he would be needed with Cronk now at halfback. What could he learn off Joey?

Andrew Webster is claiming Pearce had no third party agreements attached to his Roosters contract, so the whole $800k is freed up under the cap, also mentioned Uncle Nick had ruled out signing Hayne.

also running with the line we now have $1 million available under the cap for 2018.

We will be paying through the nose, unless he goes to a club that is completely stupid. Why would you pay what he was on at the Roosters if you could get the Roosters to pay the difference.

That may depend on the situation of his leaving but I suspect the Roosters could be up for the difference

That’s like saying Cronk never woulda won a comp if Smith, Slater and Bromwich didn’t play with him. Thing is... they did.

Pearce requested the release. In this case the club would be obliged to pay nothing, unless a settlement was agreed. With the market at stupid levels, I think Manly could pay $700K at least.

Pearce asked for the release, we won't be paying him a cent.

Absolute No from me. Pearce is a very good footballer. He's just not the superstar that some want him to be.
I wish him all the best

Does no 3rd party agreements mean that even with all Nicks connections we couldnt find a business that wanted to have Pearce attached to their name? If so, that speaks volumes.
