Friday appears to be D-day for Cronk's decision. Prediction is that Cronk will either sign with Roosters or retire. If he plays on, someone at Roosters will need to be released. I don't think it will be Pearce.

I think most people misunderstood his comment about making a decision in 2 weeks time. He said he would give himself a couple weeks to decide whether he would play on or retire. it appears he has more or less confirmed he wants to play on. He never said he would sign a contract with any team in this 2 weeks. I think he has kept his side of the bargain and the majority of people didn't understand his original comment.

That would be hard. Make Boyd the sole captain. I think Cronk would be happy to play as part of the leadership group and would be an excellent mentor for Boyd. I just don't see a Captain in Friend whatsoever. The body language is poor.

good to see you back posting mate, have missed your thoughts. It is terrible the thought of Cronk joining Teddy in our colours in 2018. I find it amusing reading posters who are against the thought of signing him, more so when they are worried about losing Pearce or Friend. Having said that, reading their other posts like bring back Remi Casty does help to understand the type of people we are dealing with.

Well im glad it appears it will be friend released and not pearce...and yes i was obe of those somewhat oppossed to cronks signing, im starting to see the positives namely we will keep pearce and keary, i can admit friend offered little bar his 50 tackles per game, i just hope pearce is up for the increased defensive workload, id still like another mean prop and of course nothings a done deal yet , but if i was a betting man id put a sly 50 on cronk being a rooster in 18

Starting to believe Nick, Mimis and Cronk have been plotting this for months tbh - he signed an extension at the Storm mere months before asking for the release to move to Sydney, his reasoning made no sense as his missus can work out of the Fox Sports studios in Melbourne. (and has before) One or two more years in Melbourne was not going to hurt either of their careers, I think the real reason is Cronk wants to challenge himself away from Bellamy and Smith and well his father would love to see it be in the red, white and blue.
