have been a few interviews with players recently who indicate Gordon is starting at fullback this year and Watson will be wearing 14.

I have heard differently.....but who knows. Seems a negative move to me to have Gordon at the back. Watson would be dynamic and is a good talker. He also lacks a decent kicking game which will greatly hinder his chances of being a long term first grade half.

If this is the standard of handling, options, and moves our players will be exhibiting this season...we might as well not bother playing in the NRL..

This first Nines game;

As we do in first grade all the time...at the start of the match we got a chance...6 tackles up the opposition's end.
What happened...we bombed it, poor passing/poor handling.
Then most of the first half was a parade of more bad passing/bad handling/poor options.

These players are supposedly the next big things.

Second half starts...more of the same.
Bad tackling and wingers coming off their wings and allowing opposition players to just waltz straight past them.

Cowoys too good, but a couple of dodgy tries, the first one Morgan dropped it over the line and the first one in the second ha;f the scorer had to be so off side it was ridiculous

Refereeing hasn't changed in the off-season...other teams STILL allowed to hold our players down in tackles.

Thought Watson and Evans looked good first up

as to be expected, a bunch of reserve graders/NYC guys up against a pretty good Cowboys side.

I really think we are going to struggle to create points this season, not having a ball playing FB and having a lack of creativity on the fringes is going to be a big problem.

we are going to completely rely on a power forward game and Pearce to score points.

Unlike the commentators I didn't think Watson had a good game. His errors put us on the back foot from the start. However, I do believe Watson is a rough diamond. His speed causes defences big problems + he has the competitor spirit, always wants the football. I was disappointed when Keary was originally signed as I was excited at the prospect of the Pearce/ Watson halves combination. An organiser with a speed man. Keary will need to be special to keep Watson out in 2017. A good thing.
