He was Stuart's first pick at half, but then he quickly fell out of favour (like most of Ricky's halves!) and he bought Sezer and brought back Williams. There was a lot of talk about how young gun Mitch Cornish was the Raider's future in the halves. They had a good NYC team a few years back and he was one of the main stars. When we signed Tyler I was a little surprised as I didn't think the Raiders valued him as much as his older brother so thought it a strange signing. I too am a local.
Quick note... I will ignore any further unverifiable claims of having inside knowledge (regardless of how many nicknames our comrade can create for his supposed source). Suffice to say, he got caught out BIG TIME because he quoted an alleged inside source and didn't know he was paraphrasing the guy who lured Tyler to the GC (demonstrating that he sees potential in Tyler, contrary to our comrade's version of events). This is the very definition of getting caught red handed, making an false claim about an insider.

It's the problem with telling whoppers... the truth is always out there somewhere. Unfortunately for our comrade, I just happen to live in Canberra and remember all the hype behind both Cornish brothers. The Raiders chose Anthony Milford over Tyler Cornish and many fans were royally p!ssed off about it [having to lose yet another talented junior during some pretty dark days]. While Mitch was always the better organising half, Tyler was a better ball runner (like Milf) and the Raiders were sick of other clubs poaching their talented young locals. Milf was a wildcard at the time (behavioural/attitude issues) and what is known today about the development of all 3 was not known back then.

FWIW this laughable situation reminds me of when Christopher Monckton participated in a climate change debate in Sydney. He kept paraphrasing a professor who supposedly agreed with him. The professor's title was 'Dr' so he assumed they were a man and kept saying 'he agrees with me 100%'. The next speaker then pulled our a recording of a conversation with the professor... they were female and said Monckton was talking absolute shyt3.

Something sweet about catching out an arrogant twit who appeals to authority when their argument fails on its merits.

Is that like saying Cornish was 16 when he was nearly 18 ?

      Sorry could not resist

Well I have zero information inside or otherwise. My comments are based purely on what I've read in the media and various interviews with coaches and the players. I do believe Mitch was rated as a potential gun for the Raiders a few years ago. I assumed Tyler wasn't considered as good simply from comments I've seen in the papers about the pair and having watched him play a bit for our NYC team.

I will also add that I have always found Headless Chook to be a creditable poster.

FMD, Tyler was a solid honest NYC halfback with a pretty good kicking game but he had the running game of Trent Hodkinson. Anyone comparing his running game to Anthony Milford was taking way too many drugs. Way too many.. your posts veer to far from having any factual basis you cannot be taken seriously.

I can't believe there have been 3 pages of posts on these 2 reserve graders.

No matter what the hype on either of them when they were younger, the fact is they will not see NRL unless there is a major injury crisis at whatever club they are at. Yet another example of kids being touted as the next best thing way to soon, and never living up to expectations. There are plenty more like them at every club.
Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

No loss whatsoever Having had ther displeasure to watch him play numerous lower grade games for us he was one of the worst halves Ive seen at our club this century

Man I remember when him and RTS were both ready to debut... exciting days!

TBH Moga's only 22 (nearly 23) and still looks the goods physically (bar 3 knee reconstructions). I hate the Drongos but wish him all the best.

Moga is a dipshit who could have been anything. I don't wish him well but I don't wish him will ill either.

Remember he got caught up in some brawl or something while at the Cowboys so that is why I am non plussed and cannot wish him well.

I am chanelling PIM but this this is his sound track since the u20s, can he turn it around only time will tell?

Lol it was always Mitch Cornish who had the wraps.

Some of us on the Pen are a little bit more informed re the footy than others take us for.

Mitch Cornish could carve out a decent enough first grade career if a club has an opportunity for him and to partner an experienced 5/8th. Furner was pretty harsh with him imo and hung him out to dry as a 20 year old.

Never going to be good enough to play NRL... how was he on the weekend... MATE? As I said, at one stage he was the next big thing in Canberra. We signed him because he is talented...

Because you do not know ny NRL insiders, you lied about having inside info and after seeing Mitch play (something I'd seen before since I live in Canberra) you have been proven to be an utter clown.

Oh yeah 'Hammo'... like using a fake nickname for a guy you don't even know (after I've researched him and found out he actually signed Tyler because he rates him highly... contrary to your BS lies) gives your lies some kind of credence. The only Hammo on this forum works for an RSL club in Brisbane...

Bigger picture... if Watson leaves, Mitch Cornish could be playing a LOT of 1st grade very soon.

K funny, both have had decent stints in 1st grade this season.

As the closest thing to somebody with inside info on this forum (I live and work in Canberra... in amongst Raiders fanatics who know a bit about local juniors) the Cornish boys have talent.

Mitch was a good signing and has a lot of development in him with the RWB.

What are you on about Jism? Headless Chook was talking about Tyler not being good enough. It was Mitch that played on Friday night? You know that right?

And I'm assuming he's talking about Dave Hamilton when he says "Hammo".. In what way is that a made up nickname?

Maybe you're just on another level to me mate.

                              1. He (you) talked about both not being good enough.
                              2. 'He' was talking about a made-up character (an authority figure in place of an informed argument) and at that time he had NFI that he'd just 0wned himself by identifying a guy who loves the Cornish brothers (massive fan who had a lot invested in both). I Googled the guy in that role, found out his name was DAVID Hamilton and found out he'd signed Tyler Cornish (who you said he wouldn't go near with a 10ft pole). When I pointed out the obvious flaw in your made-up story, you were then like 'aaaaw Hammo and me go back...'
                              3. OOOOPS... you just admitted you're headless_chook by going into the first person in your last paragraph.

Mate you got found out badly... I'd say more about how bad you lies are but I don't wanna give you any more facts about 'Hammo' because I don't wanna encourage you.

Hahahaha I honestly think there is more chance that you're Tyler Cornish than me being Headless! I'm sure he's having a good chuckle at that last post just like me. Ps. I think you'll find Headless uses paragraphs shorter than 30 lines when he posts.

How's my backtracking cover up going mate?
