What they have made of their win already and what is to come.
Our celebrations were a disorganised rabble. Key sponsors (big big ones) couldn't even get tickets to the GF and the after game party. One of them couldn't even get into the club (embarrassed on the street in front of his kids) and we lost them as a direct result. There wasn't even any merchandise available at the celebration for the members (that no members even knew about). That's all Ted.
They got the key to the city and it was all over the news for days with a big parade.
We got the key to the city from the Waverley mayor and it was not even mentioned in the press. I bet almost everyone here doesn't even know about it.
We failed big time to capitalise on the amazing record-breaking season. Failed our current fans. Lost the chance to pick up thousands of fans.
Is Ted solely responsible? No.
But someone had to roll for it.
I'll agree with you on that post JT.
We paid pretty big money for the Roosters cruise to the Grand Final, and not a single person on that cruise who'd paid upwards of $300 for the privilege was able to get into the club, all left stranded on the street.
The grand final celebrations were a complete dog's breakfast. The Bulldogs completely trounced us in that regard this year. They sold tickets to enter the club on GF day so that people who were going to the game could guarantee their right to celebrate/commiserate with the players afterwards. Made a fortune out of it as well (the most expensive tickets which included drinks and food were going for heaps). Completely at odds with what our club "organised".

I paid $4K to them for some tickets in a box behind the corner post and that didn't include any entrance to the club. I only got in by luck because the right person was entering at the same time as me.
They missed a once in a generation chance to pull their fans (and sponsors) in closer. Instead they were more interested in the hangers on that take and never give.
They were exclusive instead of inclusive.
It was a text book example of how to fuuck up a golden opportunity.Last edited by Johnny Tobin; 11-28-2014, 05:21 PM.
