He was an improvemnet but this needs to go to the next level now.
Who ever gets the gig needs to be top shelf, they need to spend the money. They should even consider a marketing firm as apposed to an individual head and second rate team, def get more punch in the market with a similar current outlay.
I'm not sure how record breaking crowds and record breaking membership numbers isn't capitalising on the success we had?
I would say that SBW was more responsible for that than Ted. With the way the team performed for the past two seasons, it made Ted's job very much easier. Having memberships up is great of course, but so it should be after winning a premiership and two minor premierships! Ted certainly should have capitalized more for sure from all our success.
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!
Membership attendance for Souths this year was 23%. A number I'm sure they don't want getting out...
Ours was just under 42%, given we had no day games, 12 home games & rain on the majority of those games I'd say we've done a pretty good job.
Credit where credit is due. We're certainly never going to get it from the media so it'd be nice if our fans finally started to realise we're in a pretty good position.
Not the rubbery numbers. Souffs are a dishonest disgrace.
What they have made of their win already and what is to come.
Our celebrations were a disorganised rabble. Key sponsors (big big ones) couldn't even get tickets to the GF and the after game party. One of them couldn't even get into the club (embarrassed on the street in front of his kids) and we lost them as a direct result. There wasn't even any merchandise available at the celebration for the members (that no members even knew about). That's all Ted.
They got the key to the city and it was all over the news for days with a big parade.
We got the key to the city from the Waverley mayor and it was not even mentioned in the press. I bet almost everyone here doesn't even know about it.
We failed big time to capitalise on the amazing record-breaking season. Failed our current fans. Lost the chance to pick up thousands of fans.
Is Ted solely responsible? No.
But someone had to roll for it.

Now I think I get it. Money, that's the bottom line because Ted Helliar said so.
Kinda. In simplistic terms, anyway.
I'd say 'short-term appearances of success in preference to longer-term, more strategic and tactical planning'.
We have >80k Facebook Likes, and over 37k Instagram Followers. Allowing for some cross-over, I estimate c. 95k unique people who are interested in Easts and what the Easts brand is doing (not including the countless thousands of Chooks fans new and lapsed across the globe), and their dependents as well.
Given this opportunity was never approached beyond a 'marketing-by-numbers'-level of insight and strategy, as well as our distinct lack of lauding, a-la Souths/Clover Moore stylee, I think the writing was in the wall for Old Mate.
