  • SKD second in hit ups in club this year.
6th all run metres-not bad considering most his runs were tackle 1-2 straight into opposition pack.

No offence Madrooster, but that really is a rubbish stat. We had a couple of years there where Sam Perrett topped the hit up counts/metres for us.
What's the ratio of SKD's hit-ups to line-breaks? Actually, what is the ratio compared to every other centre who plays at right centre?

That is more than Byrne,Walker and Hodges ever did for us in GF's .When the going gets tough the tough get going as Uncle Nick says.
I like any one else here was a big SKD knocker for sure and he deserved criticism but he delivered when it counted at the business end of the season and those players are hard to come by.
So dont give him shite as I am sure he is the happiest bloke on earth and so am I.
I will be kind in my next player ratings ...lol
Well said. We can all find SKD blunders throughout his career without looking too hard.
But as Brain said: '...he delivered when it counted at the business end of the season and those players are hard to come by.'
          I love grand final winners.
IMO getting rid of a 'Grand Final Hero' a few weeks after the coach has reassured him that he's still wanted at the club would erode the whole sense of 'team' somewhat. And I believe that this played as big a part in our victory as the physical skills, etc...
I'm more than happy to keep him, and I'm more than happy to keep the circus that is Blake Ferguson away from our joint...

          • Oh dear 1st we had the so called SBW circus Now fools are trotting out the Blake Ferguson circus line Ferguson is a freak of a a player who can beat a team with his own individual ability I like these kind of players in my team

Im not getting into the SKD argument here I will leave the decisions up to the club and coaching staff and happily go along with what they decide on this one If Ferguson does end up here then I will be welcoming him with open arms
I respect all our moderators here. Past present and even future. Always have done and always will do a wonderful job.

            • Oh dear.... now fools are comparing what SBW brings to a club with regards to lifestyle, professionalism, attitude, etc, to what Blake Ferguson brings....

We know he's a good player, champ!

Looked like what he was doing was a pretty integral part of our structure to me. Of course your not going to get line breaks running on tackle 1 and 2 into a set defensive line.

I maintain to some extent SBW stiffles SKD attack. It doesn't suit SKD to play outside SBW.

End of the day he delivered, and he delivered on more than one occasion. Not just the grand final.

SBW circus and Ferguson circus is like comparing Cirque De Sole with a Lennon Brothers mangy lions, a fat tamer and portable seats that are as sturdy as a conspiracy theorists theories.

                  • It all comes back to that chemistry thing I mentioned in another thread. Is Ferguson a better player than SKD? Of course. But is he better for our team? Well, if SKD is moved on, what does that do to team harmony, particularly in relation to the other Kiwis in the team? Would it be positive or negative?

The conclusions ought to be pretty obvious.

When you watch the bits of him at centre, he played just his first season in this position and I think six games there last year.

WOW WOW WOW holy f**k how good is he!!!!! You would have to have rocks in your head to not want that amazing talent at our club!!

He totally $hits all over SKD when it comes to talent!! SKD can only dream of doing 99% of the things on that footage!!

How bloody good is he under attacking kicks!! SKD is $hithouse in this area, how many times have you seen him do stupid things and give away a penalty!

Some of those big hits were beauties!! Again SKD can only dream of doing that as he never tackles with his shoulders!!
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

                            Here's looking at you, kid.

I certainly wouldn't say that Robbo had complete faith in him, as he did let him down on many occasions throughout the year! Robbo didn't have much of a choice either with Moga out injured all year and Oldfield injured through parts of the year. You aren't exactly going to have a $350k player running around in reserve grade.

I agree with you, I will also go with the Robbo's judgment as he has just won a premiership. You have to also take into account that Robbo may not be able to get what he wants. SKD is contracted to us next year and maybe no one else wants him, and I get a strong feeling that clubs aren't exactly lining up to grab him. Maybe Fergo will get an offer too good to refuse from another club.

I would be shocked if Robbo given the chance can get Fergo and offload SKD, wouldn't go ahead and do it.

Have you got any clips of him attending Waverley Court?

Or feeling up that girl in the pub?

Or getting arrested for drink driving while already banned?

Or spitting on punters at that music festival?

Sometimes, it's about more than ability.
