Pearce was in the exact same as Jenko and what did FPN do? Walk around with Carney one night? As much as I love Robbo and the new coaching staff it's not really hard to reform these players.

Guys like Shillo etc. stuck with Fergo and Furner for years until they got fed up with the two and mutinied, the team was divided by Fergo and Furner not Shillington, Fensom etc. as you said Furner is not a first grade coach and his biggest mistake was letting Ferguson roam free.

You said it yourself that the new coaching stuff can basically do anything, they can surely fix his attack. It's not like it's completely broken either he makes 100+ metres most games and was our equal 3rd highest try scorer this year and he does have 'it' look at 2010 he destroyed teams, Robbo can get that form back, I know it.

Even if SKD doesn't improve I'd much rather stick with Moga or Macdonald then Ferguson.
I really think you underestimate how bad some of our players really were and how much they have turned it around! You also seem to extremely underestimate the work it has taken to turn our club around by our current coaching staff, when you say that it's not really hard to reform these players. If it wasn't so hard then why did a coach with as much experience as Smiffy had fail so miserably compared to a first year rookie coach??

I can't believe you are sticking up for a bloke like Shillo thinking that he has nothing to do with their current predicament. Did you not see Shillo get interviewed not long after it was announced that Sticky was their new coach and he said that the players wanted Dunemann instead. That to me wreaks of a player who is only self interested and doesn't have the best interests of the club at heart and the raiders seem to have quite a few of them!!

I have said that our current coaching staff can achieve most things, but I have said that SKD's attack is beyond help. You either have it or you don't. You have to face it, if SKD couldn't fire in attack this year with the unbelievably great year that we have had, he never will!!

It will absolutely kill me to see Fergo totally kicking ar$e at a club like $ouff$ or the bull$cumdog$hit, which he will if we don't pick him up. Mark my words, at a well coached team Fergo will be a huge success and go on to play for Australia!

Also I believe that you underestimate what is involved with replacing a player like SBW. Our club f**ked up big time when Freddy retired as we didn't adequately get the right players to help fill the huge void. A player like SKD will only get worse with SBW not there to help create chances for him, which by the way he doesn't take advantage of 99% of the time anyway. A player like Fergo is just what we need to help fill this huge void that SBW will leave, as he is freakishly naturally talented and can create things out of nothing which SKD certainly is unable to do!!

Anyway I have said all that I have needed to say on this matter. I have enjoyed mass debating this current hot topic with you RR2/Mr Cage, and I hope others on here have also enjoyed it.

I think and hope one thing we can agree on, whatever decision Robbo makes we be happy enough to back him and go along with it. Sure, I would be lying if I said that I wouldn't be disappointed if we don't end up getting Fergo, and likewise I'm sure you would feel disappointed if we do end up getting him. But the main thing is that we always Trust In Trent's Strategies, as he has given us no reason not to back his judgment!!

After all we are the reigning premiers, oh yeah baby, I will never get sick of the sound of that, so life has to be good!!
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

    Here's looking at you, kid.

You are a waste of space who should find something else to do in the bubble!!

            • Fergo was the "celebrity" guest player in the team taking on the Harlem Globetrotters at Homebush last night. He shot 1 from about 5 in his limited time on the court. He finally got one in when they stopped guarding him. I don't think we will be loosing him to basketball :-)

              • Hopefully the club still has the no dickheads policy in place so we all wont have to worry much about what blake does as he wont be part of the eastern suburbs rugby league club.

                • Well I'd like to see RTS outside of Flake

                  sorry rephrase that

I'd like to imagine how RTS would go outside of Flake

                    Was Fergo sober?

What a combination they would be, RTS would be scoring a $hitload of tries in 2014!!

Then in 2015 RTS to fullback and then Moga will be the beneficiary of being outside of Fergo and scoring a $hitload of tries!!

                          • I really like what Fergo is saying in all the bold bits! He is finally getting his head in the right space and will be a huge asset to our club!!

                            http://www.news.com.au/sport/nrl/tro...-1226742528252

BLAKE Ferguson's biggest battle is not avoiding concussion in his professional boxing debut, or avoiding jail time for the indecent assault allegation hanging over him, or even being re-registered by the NRL.

His battle is a lot closer to home.

"I want to get my family back on side," Ferguson says, revealing how he is no longer on speaking terms with the two people who he has credited for his sporting success.

Ferguson’s "grandparents" Rex and Joan Sutherland, who raised him in Wellington after the Department of Community Services took him from maternal mother Retta Ferguson when he was 13, cut off ties with the 23-year-old following his arrest for the alleged indecent assault before State of Origin II in June.

"It’s tough man, my grandparents, pop, I haven’t spoken to them since," Ferguson said.

"It is still going to take time, it is going to be a long ride. Hopefully in the next few months it will come back to normal.

"I have cleaned my act up, I am responsible for my role in the family, it is something that I’ve actually had to think about so it’s good.

"I want to show them that I am on the right path again, and that I am responsible for my actions instead of acting like I don’t give a shit about anything. I actually do care.”

Just three weeks before the falling out, Ferguson publicly praised the effect of the Sutherlands in the pages of The Daily Telegraph, including how his "pop" had set him straight after previous indiscretions.

Ferguson had said then: "That chat with pop, it really started to change things for me because it made me realise how, really, when I stuffed up it wasn’t me that was hurting the most. It was them. My family.

"The couple of times I got in trouble after that, I really got down because I knew how they’d be feeling.

"It hurts because I know I wouldn’t be here right now without them."

How did it now come to this, for one of the most talented league players in the world?

Ferguson, who was sacked by his club Canberra last month, prefaces his response by saying: "People will read this and think it’s a sob story but it’s not."

"I was seeing counsellors twice a week, going up and back from Sydney three times a week doing promos for young kids, training kids to play basketball, training kids to play footy, that’s when I got in trouble," he said.

"I was working close to 30 hours a week with young kids, helping them out, I was boxing training as well. It was taking a toll on me.

"When I went back to Canberra for that week, I just thought: 'No, I am burnt out here, I need a rest'.

"My dad was coming out of jail, I had to help him out, I had family problems, I split up with my manager, everything mate, everything just had a spiralling effect.

"I’ve got these two court cases now (indecent assault and disqualified driving charges), which are pretty serious.

"You think everyone is against you, the media comes out saying I am an ungrateful human, and they don’t know the full story.

"I went from the top of the world down to the dumps. I went from being an Origin footy star to a wharfie."

If not for the unwavering support of his cousin Anthony Mundine, Ferguson hates to think where he might be now.

Preparing for his first professional fight as a boxer on the undercard of Mundine’s bout with Shane Mosley next Wednesday night in Sydney, Ferguson said: "Luckily Choc (Mundine) is strong, he persevered with me, because a lot of family gave up on me.

"I fell into the wrong crowd. If you think about it, growing up with nothing, I was taking advantage of what I was getting.

"I was getting big coin, I’m talking lots of money, and I went from that to earning shrapnel.

"It was an eye-opener for me, it has made me want this more.

"It was lucky I had Choc there by my side, he helped me a lot, he taught me a lot of things I never knew, life lessons."

And as for his fight opponent Luke Turner, who has already been talking about knocking out the league star, Ferguson said: "He can say whatever he wants, he will find out on the day.

"It’s a good opportunity, it’s not every day you get to fight on the undercard of a big stage like Mundine vs Mosley. I will let my hands do the talking.

"It has been a tough few months, but boxing has given me a new lease on life.

"I’ve come from working on the wharf, I’ve never had to work much in life, I had to work growing up for food and stuff, but to actually do this to live off and pay the bills, it was an eye-opener.

"It made me want to come back, train, do everything I love like play footy. It gave me the hunger again.

"I did lose a little bit of hunger when I was playing, it probably didn’t show on the field but it showed outside of football.

"I was just falling into the wrong environments, just playing up, and not giving a good image for the game.

"There are young kids that follow the game and I probably wasn’t setting the best example.

"I looked at myself and decided to sort myself out and come back to be the best role model that I can be."
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

if he came here he would probably be on a minimum wage salary given his past indiscretions. He'd probably sign a 1 year deal just so he can get back on track.
