If I name a random kid I know I'm going to get 100 reasons about why the club couldn't sign him.
I'll give you a bulk of examples; Milford, Carr, T Ryan, Cornish, Moses etc etc.
There's plenty of talent out there, my argument has never been that we should have signed player x it's that we should have used a different strategy in waiting for the right option to come up.
There is plenty of young talent out there admittedly, but the question is whether they have the attributes to become a regular first grader. Mental attitude is just as important as physical talent, and that cannot be judged by watching onfield performances in say, the NYC.Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

Pretty important position just to through some random Toyota Cup kid into while we wait for "the right option" to come along
How long would we wait?
Like I've said numerous times, if the kid showed promise then we could persist otherwise we should be in the market this year. With Maloney's contract (not as small as some are making out) and SBW's money we'd be able to compete with any club for the players currently off contract.

If I was the club I would have just left it to POS and his scouting team to it, with the objective of picking up a creative playmaker who would be ready to handle the step up to Firs Grade. Again I'm arguing for the strategy not the player, I don't know how I can make this any clearer...

This year you've got Carney, Thurston, Hayne, J Reynolds (Roosters fan), Sam Williams, Widdop & potentially Tomkins all on the market. Hell I'd even give Benji a prod, they're a pretty unhappy camp over there at the moment.
I doubt Carney will ever return and I don't want him to either - he had his chance and blew it.
Widdop from memory rejected our advances last time around and Thurston, Marshall and Tomkins are pipedreams I reckon, for financial reasons if nothing else, especially if Scummy Bill goes round again in 2014

Which one is the creative player out of those 3????

I really don't think that we could have signed a better list of players going into next season and still maintained our strong youth policy.
For example, had we signed Tamou, we may have lost a bunch of young front rowers including either one or more of Evans, Napa, Tasi etc. Had he came to our club on 500K+ and ended up being a flop aka Snowden, I would have loved to see what all of the current whiners would have said, especially if any of those young front rowers mentioned above ended up tearing it up for other clubs.
I think we are very close to seeing this crop of players reaping the reward of persistence. JWH, Kennedy, RTS, Tasi, Moga, Cordner, Evans and Napa are our future stars.Comment of the year:
