6, I'm simply saying give your boringly negative over-analysis a rest, and let the new signing have a few games at the club before you condemn him as the wrong choice. And be happy in the knowledge that, above all else, your man Anasta is gone
wow did u really write that or is this the hacker?

R6 is becoming a little AlFredo69er punishment-ish.
All we've ever asked is for a player in the spine who has a good short kicking game, has some real pace and is good at trailing forwards or backs who can offload. Baloney fits the criteria and as a bonus comes with a lot of experience, which we also lack, and from all reports a real sense of humor and character that the players and admin and fans alike actually respect.
I can't see what he's trying to gain by questioning this signing. He hasn't made a single valid point on the matter as yet IMO.

Sorry for expressing my opinions on an open forum.
I know pre-season is still a time for optimism, I'll wait until later in the season when everyones spirit is crushed and reality has started to set in.
we can have both tomkins and RTS - 1 can play 6, the other fullback. That would be so deadly. The casualty would be maloney and probably SBW who won't stay on which would still allow us to replace SBW in the backrow with someone of quality if we wanted

Ill say one thing about the above champ...he better get serious then and change his attitude and play some footy or he will be out the door quick smart
...and Ill save all of you thinking too hard
I would sign Tomkins as right now he is the ants pants ... Roger TS can play his natural possie which is 5/8th - he has it and will deliver in that position one day .
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

Shit dude the transformation is complete.
You are fredster69.
Who else could/should we have chased for this season???

Who R6 or Baloney???
I have never heard anything about an attitude problem with the bloke???

No one, Maloney was the best 5/8 on the market and the club got him. I'll always support the club, their intentions are clear they want to win a premiership and are signing the best players available. I honestly can't fault them them in that, I just think there was a better option... the one Roz mentioned for example. I'm not sure why being patient and waiting for the right option is such a criminal thought...
I know I've gone on about this a lot but I truly believe that you need at least one player in your spine who can create something from nothing. Pearce & Friend are good players in their own right but they're not creative players. RTS is the big hope but he'll be held back this year due to Mini and even when/if he does get a shot it's a bit harsh to expect much from him, he's still a rookie.
This team is so close to being a great side it's not funny, the culture and atmosphere around the club now is awesome. I'm just frustrated because I think we're seriously only one signing away from being a top 4 side and we rushed it.

What's the Juice you're hearing Braniac???
I think I meant to reply to your quoye not R6
......but Baloney wont get any where here with comic relief ...he has to put the work in and get results on the field.

So you've already judged him, found him wanting and fully expect him to be a dud from here on. I think Tony's point is well made.

Maloney can play 7 and Tomkins 6. Some people here complain that Maloney and Pearce are too similar.. Pearce is off contract.. bye bye Pearce then.
The whole debate about Tomkins is a hypothetical anyway. He's contracted to Wigan.
This has blown up over the past 12 months since his brother Joel (another Wigan Player) signed with the English Rugby Union. Wigan are resigned to losing Sam at some stage, even with his contract sill in place, and all supporters over there are hoping that he comes to the NRL rather than freezing to death playing in the backs for England RU.
If he ever does decide to come here to play, you'd imagine that the club who employ his ex coach and some GB team mates would have first refusal. Souths.
So my vote would be RTS fullback and Maloney 5/8.
Plus, Tomkins has a reputation in the UK of being an absolute knob. If he signed for Souths, I could keep disliking him......

Tomkins was never supposed to be available anytime period. His current deal runs for another 3 or4 years at least. There was no way the Roosters could have planned to hold off signing a 5/8 in the off chance he became available.
