I don't understand all this negativeness about the situation...this is like being given a christmas bonus. Whether you like Quade or not we would be in reality getting him for nothing. May as well have him on the books, if he is a dud then simply drop him from the team. He would be a great backup back for us who can fill a number of positions if we had injuries. Id like to see these players in the following positions;

1. Cooper
2. Mini (one last hurrah on the wing - not up to playing fb anymore)
3. SKD
4. BJ (Moga when fit)
5. T Sheck (will be our fullback of the future, but like Mini & Barba needs to play a few seasons on the wing)
6. Maloney
7. Pearce (whether you like him or not, its obvious the club is building their future around him)

simple next year we dont have smiff and anasta in our teams
we will be playing with more than "play whats infront of you"as a move.
these guys have put in at the club (except for olfield which is a fast accomplished winger)during a crap season and have not made head lines nor have broken any contracts. at least these guys have played before.

The 'yawnion hack' you refer to has a lot more ability than Oldfield, Henry and Topou. Those three are good fill in players if we have injuries but arent in the same class as Cooper.

Cooper would give us a better shot at the premiership...thats a fact.

So a late 20s yawnion hack that has never player first class league is a better long term propersition than some 19 year old rugby league players who have shown potential and played league all their life. Never had a acl tear nor walked away from a 3 year contract no gone running to the press whinging about how hard done by he has been.

But two guys that have been here 1 year and another that's been here 1 month deserve fg spots over a guy with twice the talent and potential. Surely mini, whose been here for 12 years, deserves whatever he wants since he's been so loyal and put in for so long. Correct me if I'm wrong but that is the logic your using to select your team for next year, no?

Last time I checked 24 wasn't exactly too old to play league. In fact 25-26 is when players are at their peak physically. Im not saying these guys wont be a part of our team in the future but as far as next year goes Id rather see Cooper at the back.

The big issue that pretty much everyone on here is ignoring....how do we know he's any good? He played with SKD when he was a teenager, but that was it. People are putting him in at fullback, 5/8, suggesting him at hooker etc. We only have his and Money Bills word that he's not sh!thouse. He had one season at Union where he actually looked the goods. the rest of the time he was missing tackles, dropping bmbs, kicking out on the full....you name it.

Actually, it would be the funniest thing ever if Money Bill donated half his pay and Cooper was like Kouparitsis on a bad day.....sucked in, as you Aussies like to say.

Wow, really have to spell it out to you don't I. Mini is past his used by date (even an idiot like yourself can see this??), he has been a great player for us in the past and because of this and because of his experience (mainly to pass onto Sheck) Id still play him on the wing. Sheck will be our fullback in the future but he is too young to take over the reigns at the moment. Blooding him on the wing is the best option at the present.

You speak as if they are completely different games...Quade is a career footballer and it wont take long for him to kick into gear.

And even if he does fail then simply drop him, we have people who are more than capable at playing in the backs. As I said in my 1st comment, this would be a no brainer to get two great players for the price of one.
