Sheck will be our fullback in the future but he is too young to take over the reigns at the moment. Blooding him on the wing is the best option at the present.

You speak as if they are completely different games...Quade is a career footballer and it wont take long for him to kick into gear.

And even if he does fail then simply drop him, we have people who are more than capable at playing in the backs. As I said in my 1st comment, this would be a no brainer to get two great players for the price of one.
Here's the news mate. They ARE completely different games. The only thing they have in common is the shape of the ball.

Problem is, Quade isn't that good at either of them.

    • why not sign Cooper???

When Pearce eventually signs his Merge contract, we need a half, Cooper is Soward and Pearce rolled into one.

It is quite obvious some of you guys, have not watched Rugby and listen and read Rosey Cheeks Rothfield too much.

People are putting him in at fullback, 5/8, suggesting him at hooker etc. We only have his and Money Bills word that he's not sh!thouse. He had one season at Union where he actually looked the goods. the rest of the time he was missing tackles, dropping bmbs, kicking out on the full....you name it.

Actually, it would be the funniest thing ever if Money Bill donated half his pay and Cooper was like Kouparitsis on a bad day.....sucked in, as you Aussies like to say.

They'd be off to French rugby/boxing/lacrosse before you could say 'theressoemthingthatdoesn'taddupaboutthosetwo'.
Google Coopers highlights you fool, unlike Pearce's it would be longer than 2 minutes.

The sevens comp is good...apart from that union bores the shat out of me.

Seriously fella? Justin Carney looked good on youtube, and we know how that turned out. At least he was playing LEAGUE though. Not UNION. Players tend to be able to tackle in league.

Just looked at 'Quade Cooper - tricks, flicks and kicks' - 5 of the first 6 clips are of him kicking penalties. I think the term is PMSL.

Let's not be putting the cart before the horse here. We have a very able replacement for Mini - a superstar in the making some might say.

Why would you want to bring in a bloke from another code, play him out of position, and still push him to the front of the queue?

                  Madness.

Golf and swimming are completely different games. League and Union are very similar (if you think otherwise you obviously have never played either), and particularly the role of the backs.

Quades had one poor/injury interrupted season yet everyone is so quick to write him off. Look at T.Carney...after his shocking 2011 he still managed to dust himself off and play a good 2012!

                      • In December 2009 Cooper was charged by police with burglary after allegedly taking two laptops from a residence on the Gold Coast.[12] The charges were withdrawn after "completion of a justice mediation process with the complainants".[13]

I dont think that was Cooper, I just cant put my head around who it was, Iám sure somebody can find it.

Mate I'm not a real fan of Pooper. But IMO he's on a similar level to RTS.

I mean RTS came from Yawnion, had 3/4 of a season in the 20s and a few games in 1st grade. Don't get me wrong he did a great job and I am excited with the kids future, but in all reality many have been in his position before and either injury have ruined them or they have been found out quickly.

Pooper IMO has as much cred as RTS when it comes to RL. Both have very little to be truthful.

As for the games Yawnion and RL being different, sure they are, but I can't think of two different sports so close in a practical sense. Remember the games both started as one and other than the play the ball/ruck and maul differences the basics of both codes are very similar. Especially for outside backs as previously mentioned.

In all reality signing Pooper is no more of a risk of signing Carntey was. In fact EVERY signing is a risk. It's the payoff that's the key.

IMO we don't really need Pooper for next season but if he was seriously willing to come to the club for opportunity to learn the game and work hard for respect I could see the value. Especially with Mini being close to retirement and Pearce off contract at the end of 2013, Poopers mere presence could inspire others to up the ante performance wise.

Competition within a club IMO is the ultimate motivating factor when it comes to performance. Injuries and poor form are guaranteed at some point. Depth is a rare commodity in the modern game.

I wish people would worry less about what the News fiLTh media spin and worry more about OUR club and it's ability to compete again.

                                You know it makes sense.
