Good to hear you weren't that Tony. He came across as a complete Rothfield crony loser who had no idea what he was talking about. That's better left to internet forums.

Wests Tigers, Penrith Panthers, St George-Illawarra, Cronulla Sharks are all inferior run clubs to the Sydney Roosters. Privately owned teams such as the Gold Coast Titans, Vodafone Warriors, South Sydney Rabbitohs and Newcastle Knights are also inferior run clubs.
The Sydney Roosters are one of the very few self sustainable clubs in the NRL competition.

Actually I can't see that happening in the next decade. Can you?

Is that because you don't trust yourself to be able to have a proper opinion as to who might or might not be suitable?

I am happy with the current set up. Why do I want to change it? We are going better than most of the privately owned clubs and ones run by members. As I said, if in ten years time we have a similar record to those clubs I mentioned then I might think that an 80 year old Politis is over it. I would say he may stand down well before then.
So if Politis became owner of the club would you still have a stance against him? I'll give you a moment to ask Rothfield.

Does that mean you have nothing new to add about Politis that you haven't repeatedly said every year we haven't made the top 8 but conveniently kept it eating at you inside while we were in there? Sort of like what Rothfield does.Last edited by BUDDY; 10-18-2012, 12:28 PM.

I have a simple & legitimate question to ask you. Just to set the record straight, do you support the Roosters?

Do the people that are criticizing me understand that concept?
So people are criticizing you cos you criticized them in your original post for not being as critical as yourself when it comes to criticizing Politis???
It means that he is the head of the tribe.
What he says goes.
From the top of my head.....
He has sacked due to poor performance before contract fulfillments.
Graham Murray
Ricky Stuart
Chris Anderson
Brad Fittler
Brian Smith.
Freddy wasn't sacked.
We have had wooden spoons, bottom 3 finishes , player mismanagement, culture problems, players moving to other clubs and performing better.
5 GFs, 1 win, 1 minor premiership, 5 top 4 finishes.
Yet.....somehow, fans do not seem to mind because of the financial gains assosciated with the owner.
But he is not really an owner!
Isn't it Politis and his boards job to keep us ahead financially while giving the 1st grade side every opportunity to be in the hunt consistently???
There is a disparity here and I think it deserves open debate.
If Nick was the official owner I would not question nor criticize him at all.
Yet, we have a "Mickey mouse " board and a pseudo owner that contributes unknown amounts.
So what do you actually want changed mate??? I still don't get why???
The FlogPen .
You know it makes sense.

Didn't Politis start as the boss in 94-95??? In fairness if we are judging his record in charge shouldn't we use the period to judge his performance???
So since then, 18 seasons ago, we have made the semis 11 times, been top 4 at least 7 times, a minor premiership, 2 club championships, 5 GF appearances, a GF win and a WCC win??? That's off the top of my head I can't be farked googling. And we have also won a fair few lower grades comps in that time, even Ball and Flegg where we weren't competitive for decades before.
We have also come thru the SL war, the rationalization of teams, the mergers, the exclusions, News LTDs profit grab, salary cap scandals, TV deals etcetcetc all pretty well unscathed.
We have strong corporate sponsors and from all reports have a tidy property portfolio helping to ensure the club is viable for years to come.
All this has been achieved with a system you don't agree with.
Why would you expect people to accept your way is better when we have a very good track record compared to the majority of clubs we compete with???
You cannot guarantee your model for how Easts should be run works any better. I haven't seen a single example from you where another club has done better with the set up you want.
Why do you want things to change???

Yes
If questioning the validity of a dictatorial chairman who operates under a closed shop when it comes to accountability leads you to think that I must therefore not be a supporter of the club, then you're a moron
Please don't ask me again
