    Yes

If questioning the validity of a dictatorial chairman who operates under a closed shop when it comes to accountability leads you to think that I must therefore not be a supporter of the club, then you're a moron

    Please don't ask me again
That chairman has been writing our cheques for thirty odd years. He revolutionised sponsorship of sport in this country...with us. He was putting his money where his mouth was as a FAN in the early 70's before he was compelled to step in as CEO, while you were where? Who would we miss more Tony the wheel or Politis? Of course you are allowed an opinion, but why do you get so shirty when the opinion of others differs from yours? Ego.

Go back and read the news articles. People have such short memories.
Nick Politis is a fan and an administrator. He hires and fires coaches and expects results, like we all do. He can walk away at any time and people seem to forget that before he took over, our previous CEO and his family were taking trips to Hawaii with the clubs finances during a time where we were struggling on the field. There is no smarter businessman than Politis and he has been one of leagues most powerful men for decades now. He has given more to this club than anyone here and here we are questioning his viability. Not Me. Politis IS the Roosters.
You make a good case Egg daddy....my only gripe with nick this year is the cut throat axing of our coach and CEO whilst leading them to believe they were part of the clubs future...a bit deceptive for my liking.

Still I respect his right to make those decisions...just the HOW I'm uncomfortable with.

Yes I myself have used that line here mate. My meaning was more about choosing coaches and players and gameplans, you know how people on here often tend to overreact to form slumps and on field stuff.

When it comes to boards and voting rights and the like I'm positive members would love a chance to have their vote counted.

I just believe most seem happy with the changes Politis has made, they have been screaming for them for months, now that theyve been made its probably not the best time to raise this issue. If we are still languishing in a year or twos time I'm sure many more will arc up and demand change, naturally. Hopefully that's not the case of course, but that IMO is probably the reality of the situation.

        You know it makes sense.

What is the criteria for a "president"'s performance Tony? I thought the teams fortunes relied on the coach and players. Ok, the CEO hires the coaches so that means that there are 15 under-performing NRL CEO's currently employed in Australia and NZ.

The CEO has to make sure that the bills and wages are paid. Nobody does it better than Nick Politis. Ask anyone thats played for or coached the Roosters if they are owed any money.

I can't defend Politis on his record of sacking coaches, but I will say that if you have a look around at other clubs and codes, I think you will see that we are not alone. You will find some perspective. If you complete a contract as a football manager in Europe, people think you are an alien. A CEO that would put honouring a contract to one man before the clubs fortunes will not last. All the coaches Nick has sacked (with the possible exception of Murray) had been under pressure to retain their jobs...mainly from the fans. He's gotta try to make us competitive and fill the stadium. What would you do? SBW will be here next year out of respect for his handshake deal with Politis. We can't afford to lose that respect. If this is about members having a say I will support it but I cant agree that Nick Politis is not "performing".

Tony the wheel is right, I totally agree with him. Members should be allowed a vote on board members.

What Tony is basically saying is no matter how well you have (in the eyes of some) run the club there still should be an allowance for accountability. For all of us that live in a democratic society that is 1 of the pillars we live off. Im not saying Dictators dont have a place but when things are based on freedom of speech & accountability then members should be allowed to vote board members on or off or retain them.

No I dont work at the Telegraph I wish I did. No I dont know Tony & Yes I go for the Roosters.

Ah................................................ .................................................. .. I mean the MIGHTY ROOSTERS.

I could never not follow the Roosters even if they came last every year. It's runs in our family.

Win lose or draw I really couldn't care but when I am at a game & we win it's fantastic especially if it's against The Dogs Broncos or Souths.

                    I should be the Chairman.

While I agree that having members voting rights is a good idea, you run the risk of allowing "tickets" to develop. And whilst they can bring about change, it may be change for the worse ala Parramatta. Fitzgerald may have been the Nick of the West, but Parra have been a basket case since he was dethroned.

I'd hate to see members given voting rights at the club only to see some stupid Flick the Nick ticket get traction.

                                Chook.
