Quads Cooper led the qld reds to super 15 glory in 2011 (admittedly with a champion half in Will Genia), and in the five games he played this year the reds won. He did his knee in last years world cup and anyone who has followed injuries closely knows what a long road back from them it is. I don't care what anyone says, he is a naturally talented footballer. Is he right for us, I don't think so. But how arm chair critics get on here and bag him is f*cking embarrassing.

Yeah the Wallabies are in the business of pickings mongs. He's the no.1 fly half of the second ranked nation in rugby union. But yes he's a mong.

Not a matter if he is a good player or not, simply because there is no room for him in our squad. If mini had retired, sure but even then surely we are not going to risk losing RTS cause Cooper wants to play here?

Pretty sure the Wallabies are behind South Africa, All Blacks, England, France mate...they haven't been no2 in the world for a loooong time.

And if he's the no1 fly half, why don't they pick him more often?

Yes he should be picked more with his injury.

certainly not questioning his ability as a footballer, more the fact that he's a tosser who considers himself above any team he plays for, much the same as his tosser big shot mates O'Connor and Beale. It might be ok for these guys to form these little cliques in the rarified air of international rugby where they jet in, play a test somewhere, and jet out again, but in league where guys need to be comrades for 35 weeks a year, they destroy clubs.

Couple that with what he'd cost, his poor defense, and the fact that he's associated with Nasser means that for me, he's a big no

Ever heard of anyone at the qld reds having an issue with him? Or Australia's best rugby union coach (Ewan Mackenzie) having issues with him?

Until he is able to make 25 tackles a game predominantly on big second rowers and centres then he is not even ready for first grade let alone being paid as much as he would command. Richie McCaw and his mates made him look like a schoolgirl when it came to tackling. How is he going to go against Pritchard, Burgess etc in League. He will be a laughing stock.

No thanx, look how he played in the Rugby World Cup.
You needn't go that far back. Have a look at the matches at test level he's had this year.

Yes, I bet MacKenzie and his reds teammates were over the moon when he was stealing laptops on the gold coast

                        • Whenever the Todd Carney saga comes up on here people whinge about the club only going for the 'good guys' now (you can add Nate Myles to that conversation too). Now we potentially have the chance to go after Quade Cooper and you don't want him because of his supposed questionable character?

You can never have too much talent there will be a spot for him if he comes.

I believe Quade was more worried about what was on either of the two laptops not stealing them for their monetary value, which is still a warning sign anyway. It would be an interesting signing if we got him, but not really necessary considering we have two quality halves and a youngster with the sky as his limits in RTS.
