I'd certainly be keeping Whyte over Leniu if it came to the crunch.

But really, our forwards are not the problem.

The opportunities to win were there on multiple occasions last night. The forwards made the meters, our defence was great.

But our halves could not convert those opportunities, or in Walkers case deadset bungled them.

Our playing philosophy needs to change. Eyes up footy is fine to a point, but we appear to be doing it foe 80 minutes. With higher risk footy comes errors, and on a wet night in a final v a motivated opposition, if those risks don't pay off you lose the game.

Also, our completion rate was 67% which is simply not going to win you a finals footy game.
Agree potentially not $800k worth however absolutely rocks blocks running so hard and quick into contact from a standing start
we just need more support for him and Whyte
may would have been the perfect 4th prop which we are now short on
our smaller bench has worked some games but up against the big packs in big games the light side didn’t work
we are really missing the 4th larger middle atm

15hrs on from our season ending I'm still mystified by what the hell happened with Sammy Walker last night for a knockout final his lack of energy and intensity was inexplicable.

Robson will need a rest at times and also Watson covers lock, hooker, edge, centre and half so a perfect utility
I don't believe it is that simple. We need a bigger bench, Radley can cover hooker, a wealth of young talent that can cover lock. Who do you leave out just so that Watson can play a few minutes as an average hooker?

          Savala
          NButch
          EButch
          Foketi

Watson is the nsw blues utility and best utility in the comp
none of the guys you listed above are big and you need someone that can cover multiple positions which he can
he can come on at hooker, lock or halves
savala is not a 14 he is a 6 or not on the 17
what would Savala come on and play?

you can still have a big bench around Watson with Leniu and others there. But we do need another middle I bellieve eg prop

also the above players are all smaller sized back rowers - need some point of difference with size and impact coming off the bench - not 4 x 95kg middles that all play the same way

You would risk some of those other players leaving?

IMO Watson coming on to replace Robson in SOO2 cost us the series. A few times Cleary had to check his run to catch stray passes which gave Qld time to scramble. He will not be there next year. The best utility in the comp belief is seriously misguided.

I agree that is a possible outcome but playing Radley out of position to give Watson a spot sounds like a Sunk-Cost fallacy. Lots of other players that can play lock or second row without compromising size.

They potentially leave anyway if they are not in the 17 and they are not utilities like Watson is
many believed Watson should have been in earlier as Robson got caught out in all 3 games being too tired not running the ball like Api does to provide any spark and missing crucial tackles resulting in tries as he was to busted and Watson came on to late

jt was Robson providing little spark out of half and got caught out defensively late under fatigue

Robson struggles for 80 min so why not have Watson give him a spell mid game and you still can play Watson for 60 min
20 min at hooker for Robson
20 min at lock for rads
20 min at locks with rads on edge for Wong
otherwise we have no backup hooker with savala there or benniah who only covers hooker

Most teams would kill to have Watson

From my view, our forwards failed to get any ascendency to lay a potential attacking platform for our halves.

We were physical generally speaking and applied lots of pressure but were unable to capitalise on it.

                      Our halves weren't creative enough.

Another year, another RoostERRORS way of footy.

Billy Smith is signed until 2027.
So why is there talk of someone to replace him?

Players like Radley just look like a spent force, why did he get 80 on an edge? Much like Rads, Billy Smith’s form has fallen off a cliff since he’s pretended that he’s English.

Just a terrible way to end the season and a waste after we played some good footy to get in the 8 in the first place. Again Robbo must be questioned with how it’s possible such a talented team can be so poor and under prepared in a game.

We have a generational athlete playing for us in Marky. One of the best players in the comp and in his prime, probably only has a season left with us and we’ve wasted his talents. He was best on the field in a well beaten side playing on the wing. There are positives to take out of the season but absolutely no positives to take out of that bedshit of a performance last night. Woeful.
Hadn't thought about wasting Mark's talents but you're right. Depressing.

There wasn't much in the match and the Roosters were well prepared as were the Sharks. Sometimes things don't work out on the day/night. It wasn't because of effort it was just that the execution let them down,

Sam Walkers attacking kicks are usually spot on - last night they were either too short or too long.

It is as simple as that plus the unforced errors. Anything else is trying to find someone to blame.

In the helter skelter that is finals football...both Raiders and Broncos today made a truckload of mistakes.
