As of today, the upside of Hugo over DCE:
1. Better long kicking game. Which compliments Sammy's short kicking game.
2. Stronger defence than DCE.
3. Being younger, he is arguably fitter and faster.
4. Local junior who is passionate about Easts.
5. He and Sammy's combo has already proven to be successful.
6. Cheaper, which allows the team to upgrade others.
7. A new dynasty can be built around younger halves paring for longer, whereas DCE has 1-2 seasons left.
8. His potential is unknown, whereas DCE's best days are behind him.
9. DCE has a history of being at the centre of team disharmony. Around 2012 (from memory), a number of his Manly team mates wanted him gone, when they had all taken unders to stay together. Now again, he has derailed his team's season.
10. His current form is miles ahead of DCE.
Argument for DCE
1. More experience.

If you look at his games he's only really been out of form for the past 4-6 weeks, I did not see the Manly game this past weekend so will take the forums word that he was awful but he has played quite a few good games this year for Manly and still leads Hugo in most/all key halves stats.Originally posted by gragra View Post
There would barely be a rugby league pundit around that wouldn't see the demise of DCEs form over the past 6 months and the alternate rise in the rooster halves form that would agree with your opinion. I think you are just posting this opinion to stir up responses....which sort of works until it's announced formerly one way or the other. At least it keeps the dialogue open to restate the alternate case which may help in getting the proposal cancelled. So thank you for the opportunity MKCS.
He's not coming here to be the leading man in all of this, he'll play secondary to Walker, less pressure, better team, better coaches and staff, I think if there is anyone to get a final great year out of DCE (Or even a good one) it'd be us.

I wasn’t aware that the Holden Camera came in a convertible.Originally posted by roostermcgregor View Post
Geez , that car was a lemon.
The fact that it came in a convertible, gave all the other convertibles a bad name.
Wheels magazine lost all credibility when they awarded the Holden Camera ‘The Car Of The Year’

Yeah, my mistake, I got it mixed up with the Holden Astra ( which I think is another sh#tbox) but that still manages to edge out the Camira.Originally posted by Bates View Post

Caz, most of us agree.Originally posted by caz View Post
what's the story bbr? you're not dumb and i often agree with what you say but you seem to take it as a personal insult when you see comments that you don't agree with. why not try and live and let live a bit?
I suppose we need to continue affording Gen Y's empathy and tolerance.....a very entitled generation who easily get the poops if they don't get their own way or if things don't pan out the way they intend

Watching Matt & Cronk tonight and Coops dissected DCE game from the weekend and how he avoided the contact, missed setting up tries that everyday of the week which really should make DCE reconsider whether he should retire. And then praised Hugo as to how complete his game was on the weekend. Coming from Coops the decision which way the Roosters shoud go I'd say dead easy!Originally posted by MKCS View Post
