This does not suggest that he's an "elite half" especially if the NRL give him the green light to play on that amount. Sandon will most likely earn more at another club imo.

The above stats suggest to me that Manly lack the strike and class across the park like we have and are heavily reliant on DCE.
DCE 2024 Origin Stats: 35 runs for 252 metres, 3 line break assist, 4 try assists, 8 tackle breaks, 1251 kicking metres, 3 repeat sets

DCE 2025 Origin Stats: 10 runs for 88 metres, 262 kicking metres

    ---

Admittedly 2025 was a poor game for him but Munster wasn't much better with 11 runs for 85 metres, 338 kicking metres and 1 repeat set all that's worth noting in his game 1. As for Manly, they aren't that heavily reliant on DCE as Luke Brooks joins him in equal 6th for line break assists for this season but so what if they are reliant on him? He's getting the job done so why not utilise that?

As for his 500k worth I think that's unders, I personally think he's probably a 750k a year player just due to his age but he wouldn't be leading key playmaking stats if he wasn't an elite half. Lot of clubs out there would probably still give him a million bucks a season.

Are you his manager, brother or father?

The key points when it comes to SOO 2024 and 2025 series are

2024 -NSW win the series and DCE played all three games

2025 - NSW win game 1, DCE was QLDs halfback.
QLD win game 2 and 3 and the series after they punt DCE and replace him with Dearden.

Masterstroke from Slater. His decision making and the outcome of those 2 series speak louder than any DCE stats for this season.
