I am bewildered that some think he will offer more to us than what he has shown this year. A fresh start doesn't put you in a cocoon and you become young again.

Both Sam and DCE goal line defense is atrocious with Sam letting in 2 tries same style just recently as DCE did just can’t handle a strong fast player running at him near the goal line. Also like DCE Sam gives away 7 tackle sets. It would be a disaster for our for and against to pair Walker with DCE. Also whereas Walker has potential DCE is has been rubbish. I have no idea if it’s true why on earth would we sign such a terrible half.

I’m just hoping that DC is playing very unmotivated at the moment. Not that I would respect him for doing this. A fresh start will be good for him.

Of course that plays a huge part in it, we've heard rumours that his teammates have been unhappy with him leaving, club staff, club coaching staff etc. He's honouring his contract which is admirable but I knew at the start of the year before he was even rumoured to be coming here that no player is going to be motivated to play their hearts out for a team they feel doesn't respect them.

Despite a few poor games he's overall been solid enough for Manly given the circumstances, he does beat halves partner Luke Brooks in everything except run metres and tackles made (Although Brooks has missed a lot more)

Dont worry about DCE how good is Ethan Strange.
There has been threads in the past on here & some have questioned whether he is any good or not.
He is nop notch & he's only 30 games into his career.
He will be picked for the Australian squad to tour England.

He's been phenomenal but funnily enough DCE also beats him in most playmaking stats, Strange only wins out running stats which I understand is his thing but interesting nonetheless.

I don't think he plays for Australia this year, won't beat out Moses, Cleary, Munster, Dearden unless injury and even then you'd think they'd go with the likes of Katoa, Galvin, Burton etc in the halves before they went with him, Strange will play for Australia and NSW one day though for sure.

And Hugo has shown he has that foresight as shown tonight. In his dozen games Hugo has surpassed DCE in his kicking game and defence. Anyone who questions his attack has NFI and is looking at his game with maroon coloured glasses. His two games with Walker have been great and they combine very well and they will get even better together over time. DCE will offer us less than Hugo. It is not a question anymore.
