We got a hard run home and the Storm getting beat on the weekend doesn’t do us any favours, they rarely lose two in a row and with our form they aren’t likely too.
They will be fired up to make amends, it’s going to be hard to get a win but if we turn up with the right attitude for the full 80 minutes there is no reason we can’t win.

We should beat Manly, Eels and Souths and if we get another win or two against the others we will be playing finals.
We just need to become an 80 minute team and not give away stupid penalties and 6 agains.

Remember (a few years back), when you just knew we were going to win game after game.

Now, cue the circus music, toss the coin, you get nervous for us before EVERY game.

            dearth of consistency
The annual stringing together of successive wins on the run to the finals looks unlikely given the draw and the dearth of consistency. The situation with DCE probably hasn't helped either. pick'n'stick is vital for team confidence and commitment.

To be fair I don't get nervous before every game. If it's the Drizz then I'll strategically plan a 30km run to coincide with the game and catch the end of it when I'm back (if it's not a cricket score).

Tigpies, Merge and Sharks I'll get nervous.

Meh. End of the day it's just the footy and I'm not the type who lives life with a TV set playing B2B footy games all weekend. I love supporting Easts and will show up when I can (as a dad who's usually either busy with weekend activities in Canberra or off in Vietnam/Japan/Italy...etc) but I am also a realist.

Not gonna get my knickers in a knot about whether we can beat the Drizz. TBH after suffering from repressed feelings over the past few seasons I'm starting to throb over Pappy's hipster mo and peroxided mullet... surely he's the replacement when Teddy when he retires and not that smelly dude with the head gear & munted lips?

There’s nothing like the enthusiasm of youth. Stars tend to become complacent over time and lose interest except for gems like Teddy and Toups.

A better draw won’t help us one bit if we can’t even beat the tigers.

I agree. Losing to the Tigers - wtf ?? (and other losses as well).

Let's hope 2026 is the year we stop having all these shitty losses.

                      • The Tigers loss I can almost accept due to having so many players unavailable.

I thought last week's loss to the Sharks was woeful.

                        • not much margin for error now. if we lose next week we'll only be a mathematical chance

Caz we are absolutely NO CHANCE of playing semis. NO CHANCE.

it feels a bit like that but if we win the next two weeks we'll be back in it
