Now sure the two below us have the Dolphins and Merge respectively whereas we have the Storm. However, in the final round they have the Wahs and the Faders so it evens out.

IDK. Last night s*cked and it was dumb of us to lose it as it woulda wet cemented our position in the 8. However our performance compared with others over the full 27 rounds will determine whether we 'deserve' to be in the 8. Only 8 teams make it and the only way you 'deserve' to be there is if you finish in the top 8.

Right now Penrith's on 31 and they are not guaranteed a spot in the 8...
penrith are guaranteed a spot Izzy. They are on 31, dolphins and manly are on 26 and max they can finish on is 30.

The final round they play at home to the faiders who will rest most of their team and we will need to beat the vermin by 15-20 points or possibly more.
Exactly...we need at worst a very close loss to Melbourne to have a hope of over taking the dolphins, unless the dolphins lose both.

If both the Dolphins and ourselves drop one game, we’d be 2 points clear of them. We only need them to lose one game, if we lose to the Storm.

          • I reckon it'll come down to the Souffs game and thankfully Sammy Walker will be back.

Sandon will have to produce an Anzac Day like performance if we're a chance of beating the Storm.

I can’t see the Dolphins losing to the Titans. They are already 9 points clear of us on f&a. I can’t see us beating the Storm in Melbourne without Walker and with Bellamy’s 600th game as coach. So that will likely put the Dolphins around 20-30 points clear of us on f&a. Or conservatively let’s say 13.
If they then beat Canberra at home IF Stuart rests more than half the team, we will need to beat the vermin by X number of points, at best 16, at worse 24+ to jump them into the 8.
We must beat Melbourne. Because if it comes down to the Souffs game it may be too late by then. If Stuart doesn’t rest players that will help us.

                • Titans have just announced that Hasler will be replaced with Josh Hannay for 2026.
Normally, a team lifts when a new coach takes over or is announced, as they want to impress.
Fingers crossed this is the case this week when they play the Fins ...

                  • To be fair, the Phins have conceded (basically) 60 points twice in three weeks. I don't know if they're really certainties to beat anyone, at the moment.
But yes, beating the Storm would go a very long way to making the 8. I think it's highly likely that the Storm rest some players this week, so Bellamy may do us some favours.

                    • Melbourings weapon is a quick almost surrender like tackle/play the ball usually the first 3 tackles.
they also in defence seem to convince the ref that they are trying to get up from a tackle with body parts tangled up , which slows down the play the ball.
keep and eye on cunster every play the ball. Waves his arms around continuosly like a new born ibis trying convince the ref (more than likely klown) of an deserved penalty.
tighten up our middle D, pressuer cunsters kicks and hold the ball.

                      • and in news just in the storm are resting coates, katoa and josh king as well as not having grant and kamacamika.
we've narrowed from $3 to 2.34 to win the game. that's pretty good value for us

I think the Storm are resting Meaney, as well.
Given they are not fielding their strongest team, and the Roosters have something to play for, you would think we can get up for this game.

You would certainly hope so. Bellamy’s 600th as coach though.

Also big Nelson is not in and still with Jerome Hughes out injured, so with about 8 regular of their best players out, if we have any illusions of going further in the semis we ought to account for Melbourne comfortably.

Three's a reason the bookmakers have us at this price.
