Yeah maybe. I think it's done just like Cronk was done in March, but not announced till September. Interesting to see if it's 1 or 2 years.

With the amount of money saved from jwh, manu, keary,sitili leaving and only a few upgrades and Townsend signed, I don’t think they need doms money to sign dce

That was probably the case up until the likes of Marky, Toia, Savala, Steep, excelled beyond expectations, and required upgrades beyond expectation. That would have been the priority over DCE. I am speculating of course.

Gragra does raise a relevant point though. We do have the money for DCE due to a young roster who will not reach their potential (peak earnings) for a few years. I think some fans on this forum forget that point and see the DCE signing as costing us young stars. We have who we want to keep. Savala going nowhere. Sandon was always leaving.

Depends if he is here for 2 years which imo will cause cap pressure. $1M per year is 8% of our cap for an old fart on the decline.

If we use that money to forward pay then that will ease the pressure valve when Toia has a few of his mates joining him at SOO or playing for NZ.

I can't see Ponga happening. More likely Teddy will play on for a few more years.
