Frankly I think maybe missing the 8 would be for the best. The team needs a reset and scraping into the 8 would probably just be kicking the can down the road

We are no chance. Based on what Robbo has dished up with team selections this year, our trash for & against and current injuries.
I’m at peace with it now and tbh I don’t wanna play finals unless we are legit contenders. This was meant to be one of those years, albeit here we are.

If we win the required number of games the points for and against deficit will have sorted itself out.
The Sharks, Warriors, Raiders, Sea Eagles, Eels, Titans & Dolphins will all need to win a similar number of games as us to finish in the top 8 which means they will naturally also get a boost to their points differential.

Lets hypothetically say its between us and the Eels (a side who have a healthy points differntial and are currently running 9th).
We are both currently on 16 points as it stand and we both need to win 7 of our remaining games + a bye which would take us both to 32 points each.
As it stands the Eels are on +74, we are on -90. For arguments sake let's say the 4 loses we each have are all by 1point. So they are +70 and we are -94.
If the Eels win those 7 games by an average margin of 2 points per game. They improve their differential to +84.
If we win our 7 games by an average margin of 20 points (18pts more per game than the Eels every game) we will finish on a differential of +32 still way off the Eels.
The other teams in front of us fighting for the 8 need to win almost as many games as us so any benefit you think we will get from winning games will be the same beenfit they get.
We are so behind on differntial to some of the serious contenders for bottom 8 positions it's not funny.
We would need 3 or 4 games where we are putting on 50+ points and hoping that the sides in front of us get belted a couple of times.

Until the coach admits there's a problem we might finish bottom 4.I respect all our moderators here. Past present and even future. Always have done and always will do a wonderful job.

I reckon if we will need to win 7 of the remaining 11 games plus the bye to maybe squeak into 8th place on 32 points, depending on other results. We have some hard games in that 11 rounds playing Melb, Souths, Broncos, Raiders, Eagles x2, Eels, Titans, Knights, Dolphins & Tigers. My gut tells me we will win a few of those games, 4 or 5 at best, but won’t come close any of the first 5 teams I mentioned. I hope I’m proved totally wrong and it all just falls into place from this week onwards.
